The property itself was stunning. The grounds beautiful and immaculately maintained. Everyone there was so gracious and helpful, always smiling and saying hello. The breakfast only included option was perfect (and delicious), allowing us to explore off the resort for dinner if we wanted to. Well first off the property was beautiful. Very old but well maintained and the landscape was lush! It felt like you were somewhere very tropical and not in the dry desert of Cabo. This was our first stay in a 5 star resort . I wasn’t sure what to expect but I do think I had high expectations due to reviews and the price. The service was ok. There were a few times where I asked for simple things not on the menu and was told they couldn’t do it. But then they said they would talk to the chef (for a bowl of mixed berries and shrimp cervice’) .., and came back saying that they would make an exception and that is was a special treat to be able to get something off the menu. We have stayed at many resorts and have always been easily able to make a substitution. Not sure if they just wanted you to think they were going above and beyond but it was odd. Again.., expected more! Our butler was often very slow to get back to us with small requests like ice or different mini bar beverages. Would have been happy to have just been able to get my own ice and have it when I wanted it. Turn down service was nice but again a little weird in that they folded our dirty clothes and rearranged our toiletries. Maybe that’s the 5 star part!? Not necessary for us personally. Pools were underwhelming, very deep and old. Many chipped and missing tiles. Gym was great but small… luckily not many people working out so basically had to ourselves. Over all not impressed for the cost. 😔

Beautiful property , excellent room, great food, and friendly staff. My only complaint was restaurant, spa, and shop prices were excessively high. Even without a cocktail , lunch was $75 for 2 chicken tacos and tea…90 min massage $569…, prices greater than any other high end resort I’ve visited.
