Great location. Very safe

I wanted to find a decent hotel in Beverly Hills and found this place. Not a lot of amenities but had a bar downstairs. 3 floors of rooms with an elevator. Room was clean. Bathroom very nice. Best was so close to rodeo drive and west hollywood.

This hotel needs a serious remodel…it’s pretty rundown. When I first stayed here several years ago, it was decent…good price and great location. This past time, the room felt dirty, the locks on the windows did not work ( ground floor) and the bathroom also dirty. Also on previous stays, the AC never quite works correctly. In the past we justified staying here for the location and price for the area, but we just don’t feel good staying here anymore.

I couldn't give 5 stars because there were multiple holes in our fitted sheet and the one was huge so there was no way it could've been missed. The room soda had a weird smell.

The hotel was not what we expected. We didn’t know about the up charge in parking and had to pay an extra up charge just to stay on the first floor. I would say the worst part was the service. We were greeted by an employee (African American female in her 50’s)who looked bothered when we were checking in. After my husband mentioned that parking was expensive (45 dollars a night) her response was “This is Beverly Hills.” She was rude the whole time. The only nice person we spoke to was the cleaning lady. If you are going to charge that much for parking and a cheap looking room at least have good costumer service. Anyways we will never be staying here again.

My room was left wide open. Thank god I went back to my room between events otherwise my stuff probably would have been stolen. Stay anywhere but here as a solo female traveler. I was leaving the next day so I locked my bags and set up a camera in my room. Women should never have to do these extremes. Booking a last minute hotel on the wkd to move is so costly, plus the hold. Not acceptable.

I was told they are completely renovating this building. Well, I can tell you, it 100% needs it, sooner than later. Had to go out of building around the corner, through a parking lot and into another hotel owned by same owner just to get coffee. There were literal feces on our bathroom floor and blood on the lamp. When I told the staff they said they would take care of us. Not only did I not receive a refund but Expedia charged me twice. My group had the most wonderful experience at this older historic Hotel. When you walk in you get the sense that this iconic landmark drew a large crowd of theater and Hollywood greats. This even goes back to a property built for Lillian Gish, a pre-talkies Movie star who reached out to teach young women, the art of acting. It was originally a mentored youth hostel. The old elevator took us to our comfortable room and the big King sized bed offered the best sleep. The housekeeping service offered fresh everything on a daily basis and the hotel is tidy quaint and lovely. Free coffee is served at the elegant sister hotel next door. Thank You front desk for your friendly manner and making sure everything was great and to our satisfaction. Each member of the staff is terrific. Parking is right next door.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Madison 140 is nothing like what it advertises. First, there are endless hidden charges. After already paying for the room, we were hit with $45 per night for parking — and despite paying, we still received notices threatening that our car would be booted or towed. Completely unacceptable. The so-called “amenities” are a joke. To get water (which I needed for my heart medication) or even just a cup of coffee, you have to walk through a parking lot. That’s not hospitality, that’s neglect. The staff was unprofessional and downright rude. Any concerns were brushed off with an attitude. Cleanliness was subpar at best, and honestly, I’ve stayed in hostels in third-world countries that were more welcoming, cleaner, and better managed than this so-called “hotel.” Save yourself the stress and money — Madison 140 is a total disappointment.
