1 star just for the top location, for the rest it’s a 2 star hotel that needs complete renovation. Room is basic, noisy (squeeky floors and hotel ventilation noise from outside). Ok for a very short stay on a budget.

Hotel Camel is the most basic hotel that you can get. But for the money and location, it was perfect. My goal was to be able to walk to the beach in our downtime of my vacation and that's exactly what I got. If you are looking for a 5 star stay, this is NOT the place for you. But if you enjoy good customer service and humble living. This is it!

Very cute hotel in a fantastic location. There were lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance and it was also an easy walk to the Santa Monica Pier. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the rooms were clean and cozy. I do think I should mention that our room (2 double beds) was a bit smaller than a double room you'd get at a standard hotel, However, it didn't bother us at all...just wanted to point it out in case you like something roomier. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Carmel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location unbeatable especially if you come with a pet. In the morning I would just go get coffee next door (you get 15% discount for staying at hotel at Cafe Cielo) and walk to the grassy area within 5 min with my dog for a morning stroll. It’s right by the pier and the beach too and the hotel gives you a list of the restaurants you can get discounts or perks. The rooms don’t come with a microwave or fridge but the hotel has a few fridges that they can rotate, so I was lucky that they had one available for me. You can self-park nearby or use their valet parking. I choose to do valet, it was a little pricey but worth not having to deal with self-parking management over a few days. The hotel has nothing fancy but feels like a robust value with a history. The hallway carpet feels old but it does not have the older smell that you sometimes get in older places. It felt cozy. I would definitely stay there again. Front desk and valet staff were a gem. I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the place.

Rooms are fresh, clean and uncluttered. The room looks like it was just repainted, and was squeaky clean, as was the bathroom. The room has plank floors that were clean to walk on in bare feet (props for that) as does the bathroom. Even the grout was clean in the bathroom. The only knock on the property is that the carpet (4th floor) was one of those multi-colored patterns that is dingy to begin with- you can't tell if it is grimy or just a poor color choice. The elevator is teensy but runs well. The room I had did not look out onto the street, instead it looked down onto what I guess was airflow system for the building so it was loud all night - but that masks the huge amount of noise that comes from the streets in the busiest part of Santa Monica, and your location puts you central to everything Santa Monica has to offer. Nice I would stay there again. Be aware, street parking is metered and the building next door is a huge public parking structure where you can park for 22 bucks a day. Or you can do Valet for $30. Parking in this part of town is not free anywhere.

We really enjoyed our stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and the location was absolutely perfect. Being so close to the beach and Third Street Promenade made it incredibly convenient to walk around and explore. The only thing I was a little confused about was the amenity fee. I was aware of it when booking, but I wasn’t entirely sure what amenities were actually included. One tip for anyone driving (unrelated to the hotel itself): We decided to park in the parking garage just a couple of spaces down, thinking it would be cheaper than the hotel’s valet. However, it ended up costing us $40 per day since we left and returned a couple of times. Looking back, I would have just used the valet to save the hassle! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again. You really can’t beat the location!

初めてのアメリカ旅行で利用しました。 立地の割に金額がとてもリーズナブルで、旅行をとても楽しめました。 レンタカーを借りていたのですがホテルに預ける方法がよくわかっておらずチップを渡しそびれたのが唯一の後悔ですが、早朝にも関わらず快く対応して頂きました。 冷蔵庫を除けば、部屋に必要なものは十分揃っていました。ただ、2人連続でトイレに入ると、水が足りないのかしばらく流れませんでした。 でも全体としての満足度はとても高いです。
