I stay here often for work trips, the staff are the best and are always so accommodating, while make feel right at home. The rooms are always clean, cozy and the beds are so comfortable. I always look forward to staying at the Proper and will be back again soon!

I loved the hotel's vibe and design. Big bathroom was nice and the city view was amazing. We came and left during busy hours, lobby area felt cramped and small. Shabby lounge chairs in the waiting area were weird. We loved the food from CaraCara and breakfast.

The Proper is such an eclectic hotel. We were greeted by Manny at the front desk upon our arrival. Anything that we needed, the staff made accessible. We also loved Cara Cara Rooftop restaurant!

Stunning hotel and loved the rooftop bar. I went up to do some work in the morning (still on East Coast time), and it was peacefully quiet. I got to enjoy the stunning view of The Eastern and watch the sunrise. By lunchtime, the roof was buzzing with people and had a completely different vibe. Both experiences were well worth it. The staff was particularly lovely, and I could easily walk to many great coffee shops, museums, and eateries--and don't skip Santee Alley! I know downtown gets a bad rap, but this is a real gem that reflects much of Los Angeles's history, Art Deco design, and golden colors.

This hotel is very overrated. The pool area was exposed to the dining restaurant, making it uncomfortable to swim because everyone was staring at you while eating their food. Rooms were very, very small. The only good thing was that the parking lot was right next to it. I would not recommend staying there.
