Track at the end of the Kilmuir Road This is not temporary flooding. The track is now pretty much beyond use by vehicles of any sort, several sections of it having reverted to deep, wet bog. It is still a pleasant enough walk alongside it.

What a difference a day makes. This picture of the River Horneval is taken from almost the same vantage point as the picture I took less than 24 hours previously, 1019297. It must have rained a lot in the night..!

Undercut banks of River Horneval The river meanders its way across a fairly flat moor here. Sudden spates after heavy rain cause significant erosion of the banks.
