Weekend in Kensington

We really enjoyed the hotel. I agree with some reviewers comments about worn carpets and light bulbs out in the hotel. However, our room was large and comfortable, the location near the Gloucester St tube station was great, and the neighborhood was quiet. The hotel was clean and had the amenities we needed.

The Hotel was in a good location ,the decor was poor . However the bedding was white and clean ,which was a big plus .I did not do breakfast and would have liked a kettle in the room .I just used bottled water instead .

Great location, but the hotel was a abomination. Everything was dirty, the place was worn down. No cleaning, nor service from the staff. Can only recommend, if you want Eternal daughter experience.

No hairdryer or coffee & kettle in the rooms. Breakfast was ok but basic. Need a new toaster. Otherwise good value for money and an excellent location for visiting London. Underground is walking distance away and there are take outs, restaurants and Sainsbury's, Tesco, M&S etc in walking distance. No smoking is allowed which is an extra bonus. Clean and tidy rooms. Will go again when visiting London.

The hotel is lovely and quiet. We had a great city view. The hotel itself is in need of refurbishment but that didn’t affect us at all. I suppose in this day and age were things are so expensive you will sometimes get this. It was a very warm hotel. Our king size bed was nice and comfy. The breakfast was very basic but again fine. The price we paid for our weekend stay was very reasonable. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Good staff and excellent breakfast. The only problem we faced was the heater was on all the time and the room was terrible hot. We informed the front desk and she said that the maintaince guy will come in an hour and he didn't turn up.

This property was the worst I have ever stayed in! I will send in a separate letter of complaint dealing with the many issues this place has. The photos advetise this property must be ancient as they do not match the delapidated and filthy state it is in now

This is NOT a 4 star property. Don't be fooled. It is not clean, it is extremely old (i am sure the 1970's were the hay-day for the hotel), and it is very tired. The "carpet" floor was sticky, the bathroom had paint coming off the wall and so on ...

Crummy hotel, not a 4 star or even close

Checked in for 2 nights and left after the first night. Not sure if bed bugs, I saw ants in the bed and the bathroom after getting up but I had bites of some sort on my arms legs and neck when I woke up. Went to the front desk in the morning and they offered a new room after telling me these marks were likely from some sort of food allergy. Emailed to try and get a refund as I had been due to stay for 2 nights.

Quirky hotel located a nice walkable distance from Russell Square. Location is great but the condition is a little rough around the edges and cleanliness isn’t the best. The staff we experienced weren’t the friendliest, on arrival little communication or a welcome was given, was told to ‘sit there and fill the check in form out’ The breakfast was too poor, with very little options - we went to breakfast around 9am and only had the choice of brown toast, cheese & ham. Tea was also cold and there were no bowls available for cereal. If you can get one of the cheapest rooms say £50-60 then go for that option but don’t pay anymore than that.
