Unless you are use to renting you hotel rooms by the hour, I would not recoment the Regent Place Hotel in Soho. The carpets are stained thourghout, the bed was not on a frame, rather it was just setting on the floor. The comforter was stained and the bathroom was the size of an RV. This place is a discusting pit, and I don't know how any reviews could have rated it any better.
This hotel is the greatest, price-wise and location-wise! But be prepared for lots of noise, hotel supplies running out and not being replaced, cursory room cleaning and bed changing. Do yourself a favor and ask for an "inside room," away from the street, where noise is a little better. We had 3 different rooms during a 2-week stay, and quality varied from floor to floor-comfortable and clean in one room, lumpy beds and cursory cleaning in the next. And watch out for slamming doors jolting you awake in the middle of the night no matter where you are! This is a good place for the young and restless and those who don't mind roughing it. Staff is friendly and helpful to the point they can be.
While the Regents Palace is very nicely located just off Picadilly Circus and is easily accessible by bus or tube, the hotel does not live up to the standards set by US travellers. The 'en suite' bathroom is a very small prefabricated plastic room set inside the hotel room, and is very small. A plastic curtain separates the shower from the toilet and minature handbasin. So, while not a palace by any means, the hotel may be satisfactory to those who do not mind the cramped 'bathroom' and who will benefit from the great location.
Great little place. Right outside the Westend and walking distance to all the shows, shopping and most of the sights. Big Bus Tour stops right on the corner. It was fun for our first wisit to London and would stay there again.

Best Budget!
Ok so if you are looking for luxury DO NOT book this hotel. But if you are looking for somewhere thats cheap, in a good location and you are not too fussy what the room looks like - this is for you! The room wasn't so amazing but the bed was comfy at least. Advise anyone who is staying here to get an en-suite room and bring towels!! I am satisfied with this hotel, it catered for my needs - somewhere to drop my bags off and then crash at the end of the night!

we read the other reviews and decided on this hotel because of price and location - the hotel is somewhat run down and my bed sagged badly, but really all was fine given the MUCH more expensive alternatives, and the location is great - one thing though, there were bedbugs - I read about them on the internet, Harvard School of Public Health website - they are not a health hazard, and are very hard to exterminate so the hotel will probably have them forever
great location, but filthy. the room we stayed in had no bathroom and the shared shower area was disgusting. The location is key. Right at the Picadilly Circus tube station. and within walking distance to everything. I would stay there again for sure, but only if I secured a room with it's own bathroom. oh, and the entire place smelled of smoke.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The shared bathrooms are disgusting. They claim they clean them every 30 minutes but that is absolutely false. The mildew on the shower walls was awful and you better where clogs becuase the water level in the shower gets pretty high. When I complained to one of the staff about the bathrooms she said "It's not my job." The paint is pealing, the carpets are filthy and woodwork is falling apart.

Noisy, but in the middle of activity.
Our room was on the fifth floor, but with open windows (no a/c or fans), street noise was very loud and continued all night. On the other hand, the tube station is right across the street and buses are very near. Leicester Square is within walking distance. Good value and lots of eating choices.

Would Never Return
Location was excellent. Did not sleep at all due to continuous banging of fire doors all night. The ultimate disgrace was a pool of vomit outside my door when I was ready to leave the next morning. The halls were terrible but the room itself was ok. I would never return.

For a cheap hotel near the center of London, this is a great spot.
There are no bathrooms in the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. They provide tea and coffee in the room and a small TV with five channels, which was nice. I wouldn't stay here for a honeymoon, but if you're traveling and hoping for a cheap place near Picadilly Circus, your right there! The streets can be very noisy at night, so this hotel is not for a light sleeper!

A place to sleep
If you're gonna be sightseeing all day, eating out and clubbing at night, this is the palce to be. Better location would be hard to find. It's good for sleeping not hanging out in the hotel.
