Perfectly located. Bars, restaurants, sightseeing and shops are very close, but the clever design and double windows make for peace and quiet in your room. Breakfast was fantastic - delicious and fresh. Many excellent bars, cafes and restaurants in very short walking distance.

The hotel is nice and interesting, in an excellent central location (pedestrian-only, not accessible by car). The cleanliness isn't the best... The sheets and towels are perfect, but the rest... well... there's even carpet. It's a shame, but it might be worth it.

Perfect location for weekend in the city center.

Very nice overall, great welcome and wonderful two night/three day visit. Breakfast was a highlight, can’t say enough about their crispy bacon.

Fabulous stay!

Very nice hotel, in the heart of old town! Close to shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities. Room was very comfortable, large with a fantastic view! Breakfast was amazing! Fantastic choice of dishes to choose from. The hotel doesn’t do buffet style breakfast, but if you book your room with breakfast you get a choice of two dishes from the menu plus an assortment of pastries - fantastic food and very generous portions! The hotel staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. We would recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel in nicest and busiest touristiest part of town. Noisy BUT the windows are excellent soundproof wise. Lovely river view. Note: car-free area, you will need to wheel your luggage for about 5 minutes from where a car can deposit you.

With better cleaning, this could be very good

Stayed for one night only. Arrived late afternoon where an American family was in a heated argument about the cleanliness (or rather lack thereof) of the bathroom in their room (they ended up finding another hotel). While the state of our room was not as bad as their purportedly was, the housekeeping staff definitely did not do a thorough job. Dust many places, bathroom not as clean as one would have hoped, and it was not possible to get a cleaner at that time. However, staying for only one night, we didn’t want to spend time finding another place. Some staff was nice and accommodating, some were somewhat snippy. So, I think this place could be very good, but this particular experience was not good enough.

Overrated boutique hotel

Vander Urbani Resort in Ljublajan is highly recommended in many channels and hence our expectations were high. The FR/ personnel were friendly and polite. We had booked two higher category rooms with river view. The view to river was very limited. The room set up with glass door to toilet & bathroom is dodgy and disgusting - despite of the curtains. The roof top terrace with small drop in pool is nice and has great views over the river & to the castle. Also the location oft this hotel is very central, that means you have to park your car quite far away if you arrive with car as we did. The breakfast starts even weekdays at 8 am (which is very late to any place). There were quite a lot of guests trying to enter the breakfast before that and since it is a la carte set up, it takes quite some time to get anything.

Perfect location for our visit to Ljubljana. Canal view through our window. Lively activity outside the window, but when you shut the window you could not hear the street activity. Great bed and terrific shower. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We would book again.

Pool was nice when it was very hot. Room was nice and good size (we paid s bit more to get better room). Hallways dark and tight. Breakfast ok but service slow. Location is good.

Wonderful hotel in the center of action

We just loved this hotel, right on the river surrounded by outdoor restaurants, easy walk to the castle funicular), markets, shops. Rooms are big, wonderful breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.

I have been traveling a lot and I always look for 4 stars hotels. This is clearly a 3 star hotel for the price of 4 star hotel. Good: it has a great location in the old town. Bad: it was dirty, the bathroom was filled with rust grout and the floor very sticky, towels were rotten, carpet was dirty. Second, the personnel were not very friendly nor helpful. Third, breakfast was small but with gluten free options and helpful staff.
