Room and bedding all clean as were the towels . Bathroom needs refurbishing , shower very slow and not powerful althoigh water nice and hot . Tea/coffee making facilities too which is good . The doors through to the hotel part were particularly dirty and grubby , I realise they get a lot of use but look very bad . Menus stained and sticky . 2 members of staff we saw were very pleasant and friendly . Ample car parking. We didnt have breakfast so unable to comment on quality but reasonably priced in the menu .

Although the hotel is dated and there was only one socket (by the desk), the bathroom in my accessible room was the most comprehensive I've encountered. No less than 7 grab rails in all the right places! All the staff were a credit to Greene King. Well done

Clean rooms, good food and food choice, friendly staff. I was less pleased that a couple came into the restaurant area with their dog which they allowed to walk on their chosen table. A number of members of staff obviously saw this but chose to ignore it. There seems to be little point in having a high cleanliness rating if dog owners are not only allowed to bring their animal in to the restaurant but then not challenged when abusing that permission

What a lovely 2 night stay at the Royal Oak. All the staff are so nice, nothing is too much trouble. The room was a good size and comfortable. The pub restaurant is huge so no need to book. We had Sunday lunch, I had the 2 meat roast, beef and turkey which was tender and delicious. We will certainly use this place again when we're in the area. Big thanks to the Royal Oak!

This hotel was perfect for our overnight stay. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to help. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom which although clean needed a refurb as there was mould all over the ceiling, a crack in the sink, etc.

The room was basic, it was clean and the bed was really comfortable. This was booked as a no thrills stay for over Christmas and it ticked all the boxes, it is no thrills but it was clean, there was more than enough tea and coffee in the room. We will definitely stay here again 🙂
