Lovely hotel with lots of beautiful period features. The room was especially clean with a comfortable head. The location was great as it's very close the town centre yet it was very quiet at night. I slept really well. The stall were very good and welcoming.

The bed and room were comfortable. It's a shame we had to ask for extra pillows. No hairdryer. The breakfast was in the basement and it's was a basic continental meal. The orange juice was squash and not good or refreshing. One of our keys didn't work. The parking was tight. The house was lovely. The bar didn't feel particularly sociable but it was fine.

The breakfast offered a variety including fruit, croissants, toast, hard boiled eggs a variety of cereals and porridge. As well as hot and cold drinks. The staff were very helpful in providing extra bed covers.

This is a cool, slightly funky/charming British hotel. Lovely decor, not a cookie-cutter hotel. The staff are absolutely excellent. Exterior doors are a bit funny, with various little signs taped up about how to get in and out, and the layout of my room was unique - clearly a re-purposed space. But the bed and bathroom were fantastic. I’d recommend the Mountford for those who want a little taste of proper England for their visit (note: actual British people were staying there, always a good sign!)

The property is old but beautiful, it's need more work but you can see the attempts at slowly bring this epic building to be more modern. If you like an building with character then this place is for you as is perfect and really clean just a little dated but if too much was done it would take away the buildings character

On arrival, the receptionist was unfriendly, her direction about where the rooms were was very poor and despite going back to her, she did not bother to physically move to support. This is after she asked if it was the first time for us to stay in the hotel. I did not feel that it was necessary to pay £100 deposit for our stay. I have never experienced this in bigger/ higher quality hotels. The beds were very uncomfortable. A different receptionist on our check out the next day, was very friendly and helpful.

The staff are lovely and can’t be faulted. The room was clean but thats it for the positives. The bed/matress was horrendous, so soft that you actually rolled into the middle with out moving, the pillow was paper thin they might as well of not bothered. The headboard isn’t even attached to the bed so banged every time we so much as coughed. The bathroom again was clean but the shower is tiny, not enough space to raise your arms and wash your hair with out banging your elbows. Breakfast…was questionable…not continental at all. Nothing at all cooked either. We had toast. We had to park on the road as the “parking on site” is 4 spaces and that’s it!! Overall we would not stay again!!

Room was spotless, the bed was comfortable to sleep in, the staff were helpful and had great customer service, i believe breakfast is included however we didn’t want to try any as we don’t like eating in the morning🙈The hotel itself was very clean and was very easy to find, only thing that is a pain is the £50 deposit takes quite a few days to go back into your account, overall it was a very pleasant stay and i would recommend!!
