The waterfront is a man made lake and not the sea. The sea was a long way off in the distance over estuary sand. Beach is a car ride away. So not a beach holiday place. Posher, with pleasant promenade on the lakeside and also seafront overlooking very long promenade - currently closed. FantasticVictorian street with boulevard, canopied independent shops, statues and old buildings. Hotel is central and resort is lovely.

The ambiance of the hotel is excellent. The location could not be bettered. Breakfast is very good. The lake view is great but a 50% chance of getting it from the room. The room was immaculate. Others in our party found the hotel perfect, but I would only go close, because the bed didn't quite suit me. The staff are extremely personable. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Excellent hotel very clean and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Easy check in and out. Buffet breakfast had lots of choice. Didn't use the restaurant or the car park so can't comment on those. Would recommend this hotel.

Good sized room and helpful staff but had expected more from upgrading my room- no coffee machine, fridge or water. Hospitality tray consisted of one biscuit, 4 sachets of coffee and 6 teabags but no sugar or milk. Breakfast was ok but very little choice for me personally as a vegan. Air conditioning in the room was a big plus.

Hotel is in a good location not far from Lord Street where all the bars, restaurants and shops are. Hotel is nice and clean. Check in was easy and let us check in early as our room was ready. Receptionist was very friendly. Room was spacious and clean with coffee, tea and biscuits provided. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was modern and clean. Provided with shampoo and conditioner in small bottles. Only gripe was, there was no shower gel provided? We didn’t eat here but had a few drinks and sat on the roof top bar as we had lovely weather. Car parking was great underneath the hotel. This was complimentary which was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Southport again. Had a lovely overnight stay.

Arrived on Sunday evening. Check in was a breeze. Lady on reception was lovely and really helpful. The room was lovely, huge comfy bed. Nice view of the lake and the smallest pub in Britain! Great bathroom. Very quiet on the 5th floor. Parking seems really safe. Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Walking distance from the town centre, beach, supermarkets…..

Stayed for 2 nights for the races with friends. Superior double was really comfortable, sizeable enough and clean. Staff were very friendly. Ate fish and chips in the restaurant the first night which was lovely and served promptly. Buffet breakfast offered hot and cold and all we needed. Would stay again.
