We loved staying here, Richard is a brilliant and efficient host. The area is full of life (expect noise outside until 11.30pm/ 12 ish during the week- didn’t bother us at all - it’s lovely and lively - but if you want serene evenings it’s not the place for you!) although the windows are great and keep out the majority of noise and the aircon is great. Room was spotless, stylish, amazing shower plus fridge and kettle provided :-) amazing area - everything really accessible as long as you don’t mind a little walking up and down a few hills - ubers won’t take you to the door as it’s such a thin road, cabs will - but you pay for it- we paid 40 euros from the airport in a cab - and just 15 euros back to the airport in an uber which we ordered from the nearest main road. Would definitely stay here again

Great place to stay in Bairro Alto Neighborhood

Richard was an excellent host. The room was beautiful and clean and the bathroom modern. Once we saw that it was over a very popular bar, we thought we would get zero sleep but somehow, the juliette balcony and window facing a very happening night life location, was very quiet! We were so surprised. Also the AC unit was excellent and kept the room nice and cool, which also helps be get a great night's sleep. But I would only recommend this place for couples and single people not for families. The bar down stairs was also great. Very social and popular and fun to enjoy.

The rooms have been renovated and are very modern. There is air conditioning, but no lift/elevator. The stairway is a bit tight, some of the steps are narrow, but we made it to the 4th floor (5th per USA definition) without any issue, we just moved carefully.

A clean, comfortable and affordable room in the heart of the Barrio. Nice view to Lisbon old roofs and streets. The area is very touristical in Summer but remains nice in other seasons. The owner was kind enough to carry my heavy bag to the 3rd floor... the stairs is a bit steep but so nice! An enjoyable stay.

Even this place is surrounded by bars and restaurants, when you are inside of your room it is very quiet. The owners have a bar nearby, so, if you need something (you wont) they are there willing to help you. They speak English and Portuguese, as far as I know. If you are bilingual in one of these languages You will be fine. i would come back. In my point of view the place is nice and neat. I would say a new concept of apartment. More important than anything, as far as I know, apartments in Lisbon usually does not have bathroom. They are collective. In this case, we were lucky. I trully recommend this place.

Not What I Thought

Not like what I thought. The positives are the staff is nice, the bed is comfortable (but it’s a double not a King) and the room is spacious. Downsides are there’s no elevator and the stairs are steep, it’s very loud at night surrounded by bars and bass music until very late every night, there is no closet, no hanging rack, and no hangers at all in the room plus it looks more vintage in person than in the photos. Don’t tell the housekeeper to just give you towels day 1 as then she won’t clean your room the rest of your trip even if you put the sign on the door. You must get a taxi not an Uber to be picked up and dropped off at this location. Important to keep these things in mind when booking this hotel.

I had booked this property, and noticied there wasnt an elevator and contacted the host , they inforned they would bring our luggage up. I informed them my flight was to arrive late in the evening they said dont worry they have staff to check us in and bring our luggage up. My flight was then delayed and i called the host to which they inforned me they did not have someone to bring my luggage up. My flight ended up getting canceled, and expedia contacted the host for a refund to which they would not provide. Do not book wkth this place , they are not flexible or accomodating.

Cobblestones, tight streets, colourful walls and traditional architecture is what charmed me about the area - the famous Barrio Alto. My room was on the 3rd floor (4th flights of beautiful wooden stairs - low cardio, bad knees and heavy luggage be aware). My room ( blue denim tones) was airy, bright, modern decor with beautiful wooden beams at the entrance serving as storage. The Bathroom was lovely ( that IKEA mirror….) with very hot water and excellent pressure amd a towel for makeup. Beds were comfy, internet fast. It was perfect for my long layover. The room has an efficient AC which is great as it is very hot during the day in July.I had dinner on the next street outside and partook in people watching from the cute little balcony nook. If you are a light sleeper and are sensitive to noise it might be difficult for you to enjoy the place. Its also close to restaurants, sightseeing and a busy part of Lisbon. Richard and the staff were reactive, welcoming and helpful. I had a fantastic time :)

El lugar está céntrico. Esta ubicado en un area donde hay bares, tiendas, restaurantes, plazas, iglesias. Es muy acogedor, cómodo y limpio. Richard, fue muy amable. Mi vuelo salia de madrugada y el pidió mi taxi. El taxi me recogió justo en frente de la puerta.
