We reserved weeks ahead, with no special requests, but we're given a handicapped accessible room with known defects in shower area flooding the entire bathroom. Changed rooms only to be literally the only non teenage occupant in the entire hotel. Rowdy behavior and a 3:45am smoke alarm which was not explained with an all clear. It's a good property with friendly staff, but please check expected conditions before confirming your booking.

The hotel staff, in particular, were outstandingly friendly and helpful. The person who we found behind the front desk at almost all hours, was thorough in his friendly ability to address our needs, on our first, jet-lagged moments in Portugal. This first stay at a B&B Hotel changed our allegiance from another European hotel chain. We will now seek out B&B Hotels when we can. The wonderful Parque dos Poetas is 5-minute walk.

No frills shouldnt mean broken

About the lowest cost modern hotel in the area but expected better standards of this newish hotel; inexpensive with no frills shouldnt mean broken. The sink had no plug and didnt drain well, the A/C didnt work and staff couldnt help with the error message, claiming it was because the door had to be shut properly, something we had noticed needing an extra shove to close. The overall cleanliness was excellent and the room was fresh after servicing, however the shower which was a good one, could do with a better scrub. The camp-bed is a great size but very squeaky and disturbing, with a think duvet and no chance of extra pillows. Reception staff were friendly.

Maintenance was wonderful but the front desk was not approachable/customer friendly. I had read such wonderful reviews and was excited to stay slightly outside the busy district but I don’t know if it was worth it. Keep in mind the nearest train station is a 20 minute walk which wasn’t terrible.
