Best hotel in England

Absolutely amazing, the best hotel in England. Beautiful rooms, surrounding countryside breathtaking. The restaurant and food beyond your expectations. Something that makes the hotel particularly special are the quality of the staff. Nic who is front of house amazing.

Lovely Christmas break

What a wonderful stay. Room absolutely gorgeous and with everything you could require even a fridge. Wide range of hot beverages to choose from. So clean and warm. The hotel restaurant was amazing, from the food to the wonderful friendly staff. Really liked the open fires and real Christmas trees made it very special.

This is an amazing place with great attention to detail. The quality of the rooms is outstanding. It seems that no expense is spared. Solid Oak doors, coffee pods and bags for people who don’t like pods. Lovely comfortable bed. We also dined at the restaurant and loved the food. Breakfast was plentiful enough and delicious. We had poached egg with smoked salmon and the full English. Both very nice. Staff are really nice. We’d love to come back here! Highly recommended.

Superb accommodation disappointing dining

Stayed last week Very impressed initially with location and quality of accommodation. Beautifully appointed room with a pleasant view and in a tranquil setting. We had high hopes of a special dining experience however it was far from it. Firstly the bar area lacked any form of atmosphere or character. Restaurant :- Nice decor and the dining booth we were given was comfortable and private. We ordered food at 7.30pm no starter just 2 mains, the meal arrived after 40 minutes minus the side dishes which took another 10 minutes to arrive. Sadly the mains when they arrived were barely warm and the fillet steak was far too overcooked and tough. We were offered replacement dishes, by this time it was an hour after ordering so we declined as we were hungry. We ate our meals but did not enjoy them. The restaurant staff were very apologetic but clearly the fault lay with the kitchen. There appeared to be no overall control or Maitre D presence looking after restaurant or bar area. Overall we had a very mixed experience, a real shame as it has such potential.

A lovely experience.

Our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. We had a lovely time at the saddle room and restaurants. I will rate their services 5/5. Check in was smooth. We were shown to our room. There is dedicated free parking, the rooms where bright, neat and clean, you get everything you can ever need in a hotel room up to shower caps :D. The shower water pressure was amazing. What more can i say? Food was amazing. Make sure to book for dinner, so you don't miss out on the sweet delicacies. The accommodation is perfect for a one or two night stay, if you are visiting the Yorkshire Dales, its close to sites you can easily dribe the to. There are trails and beautiful walks you can go on while lodging here as well. If i can go on i would. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Keep taking care of the place. Cheers

Overall, what a lovely stay. Il get the negatives out the way first! -We arrived on a Tuesday and the front desk isn’t open. We had no idea where to go and there were no instructions on the booking confirmation or website how to check in on Mondays and Tuesdays when the main desk is closed. We eventually were pointed to the white goose restaurant by a lovely older couple who’d also had the same problem when checking in, and were able to pick up our keys from there. Would be great if when booking they let you know what to do! - When we checked into the room, there were unfortunately still some slight marks in the toilet :/ Positives: - Beautiful grounds with plenty of parking right outside - Lots of really nice touches in the room such as robes and slippers, good quality shampoo and conditioner, vanity kits, water and milk in the fridge, and lovely coffee machine with biscuits - We ate at the white goose for pizza when we arrived and it was incredible - Breakfast was cooked to order and local products used… and fresh orange juice. Overall, we would absolutely come back!

Room, breakfast and service all very good. Site difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area. Using the postcode in the sat nav wasn't a good idea, better to use the signs for the forbidden corner which is on the same site.

Beautiful property and location. Breakfast was included with our booking and the options on the breakfast menu as well as options provided "buffet" style provided many choices and the food was delicious. The staff were amazing. They were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. No request was too much trouble. We highly recommend this property.
