The place was spotlessly clean.The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very quiet. The guesthouse was very handily situated for shops and public service buses being in the very heart of Lerwick.There was easy Wi-Fi access in the room and a large TV screen by the bed.

Perfect hosts, perfect spot!

We couldn't have asked for a better spot for our trip! We were right on the road where all the cute little shops are but it was never loud. We walked from the ferry- it wasn't too far. The owners are just wonderful and gave us ideas on places to see and where to eat. The breakfast was delicious! Try the porridge, you won't be disappointed! I highly recommend!

If you like staying in the town center on a pedestrian street with warm and welcoming hosts, this is the place to be. This family-run guest house makes you feel right at home. They are attentive but not intrusive. If there is anything you need, they are there to help. Also their breakfast should not be missed. It was made to order and scrumptious!

Perfect accommodation

The accommodation was perfect. Clean, excellent breakfast, so much choice and could have as much as you could eat. Freshly cooked to your order. friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. It is a credit to Lynette and her staff. Would recommend this to all my friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A quiet, cozy well-located haven

I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Lerwick than the Fort Charlotte Guest House. The place is a gem, a mere steps from the heart of Lerwick. The rooms are clean, quiet and cozy. The staff is hospitable and full of helpful ideas and advice. Ryan’s email communication during and in advance of our stay was exceptional, both timely and informative. The breakfast spread is varied and delicious. I especially enjoyed chatting and sharing experiences with the staff and different world travelers over coffee each morning.

Wonderful stay!

A charming guesthouse in a wonderful location, a stone’s throw from Lerwick shops & harbour. Also close to the fascinating Shetland Museum and the bus stop for buses to Sumburgh airport. The hosts Jim & Lynne were so friendly & accommodating and provided a very good breakfast. A delightful room with a very comfortable bed and everything really clean. I can’t fault this guesthouse and would stay there again.

This guest house is quite exceptional in all respects. The owners are generous in their welcome and ready to give any information or assistance you may require including the loan of books. Everything is kept immaculately clean. The breakfast is cooked to order and delicious. We cannot recommend it highly enough and would love to return.
