We read the reviews on this site and other sites. They were not good. We arrived and the staff was not only friendly to us but pleasant to the people before And after us.tge room was clean and very pretty. It went right out to the patio which was fun. Parking was free and so easy for us. They had the bar open, the location was perfect for walking around. We are so very happy we didn't listen to the reviews. We will be back for more concerts knowing this place is here

We liked that we could walk to Tanglewood--the location was the strongest asset of the property. There was minimal staff-- I received a text that front desk staff was leaving at 7pm. The room was adequate. The heat exchanger worked but the air blew directly on our bed. There were no coffee pods with caffeine for early risers.

The location is perfect, right on the center of Lenox downtown. Parking at the back of the hotel, though you might not be able to find a parking space if come back late. The room size is ok. But without refrigerator or provide ice station at floor level-not convenient for summer. The floor carpet is old and dirty. The hotel added another antique styled area rug covering the half of the bed area. It looks better but the area rug are not attached to the ground carpet. Easy to get tripped. No room service except replacing towel per request daily. You need to take care your own garbage during your stay. The hotel does have a bar. However, do not expect real bar or meal service. Overall it is a historical old house with great location without too much of the services.

Great location! walk downtown shops and restaurants . Could walk a mile to tanglewood if feeling brave. I did not but others staying at hotel did to avoid concert traffic. The inn keeper seemed a bit overwhelmed and perhaps not enough staff to turn over the inn for arriving guests . He was in communication with me and trying his best. Bed was comfortable but nothing really stood out about the appearance of interior. Looks like they are trying to improve and grow the inn with an addition of a lounge and more , but it’s not done yet . Wishing them all the best . Good inn, even better location .

When we stayed there it was off season and there were very few people staying there. Checking in was very different as Expedia told us to do one thing and the hotel had other directions. We finally got in touch with an employee who was very welcoming and informative. The outside doors remain unlocked 24 hours so the only locked door was the room we stayed in- apparently it is a safe place. The room was beautiful, bed very comfortable and bathroom clean and modern.

We had a late arrival, which worked out with self checkout. Left the next morning after 9am, didn't see a single staff member during our whole stay, Was a bit of a challenge getting luggage up to the top floor without an elevator but we probably should have realized that when we booked. Nice property, nice big room with separate area for visiting. TV channel choices, which included streaming services, was excellent. Overall a good experience, just didn't see anyone there.

The good: Location, attractive exterior and comfortable bed. The bad: Parking behind the hotel requires that you carry luggage around to the front. No elevator, be prepared for one or two flights of steps and long hallways. Most rooms do not have a place to hang any clothes. I suggested that they at least order some portable hanging racks. There was no mirror in the room, the only mirror was a small oval over the pedestal sink. No table or desk in the room, only one uncomfortable chair with a sagging center, no trash bin in the room, no surfaces to put things in the bathroom (at all) only one suitcase rack and no surface for a second so that goes on the floor along with the garment bag. No safety bars in the shower or entering the shower and only one small towel rack. The “all day coffee” in the lobby is a Keurig. We were offered another room due to the lack of hanging space but when we entered the room it was dirty and the windows with no screens were wide open, this was gross so we stayed in our first room. The hanging space in the dirty room was a narrow wall shelf with a small rod under it. The young woman in charge was very kind and trying to help but obviously did not know anything other than greeting people. I would not stay here again. Parking in town is abundant and free.

We have stated this property before and loved it. Five years later, it’s not the same. I think new ownership took over and they’ve scaled it down to nothing in terms of service, staff, amenities. Basically there is no one behind the reservation desk all day, instead they’re in the kitchen making snack food, which is all the “restaurant “offers. Time and time again we saw people very discouraged because they could find nobody to help them with things like getting ice or paying for food items. Honestly, it’s almost like you’re in the hotel all by yourself with no help insight. The bar does not have any booze nor is it operational. The restaurant is not a restaurant it offers snacks like chips and salsa. While the outdoor spaces are great, nobody sits there because there’s no food or beverage service. The last time we were there it was lively with good food and a live entertainment. This time it was sad. I should also note that the hotel was sold out because it was 4th of July weekend and James Taylor was at Tanglewood. So on one of the busiest weekends of the season…no staff members available to help with anything. They put a sign up at reservations to make it look like “we’re just out momentarily” but the sign never comes down . Instead of checking in with a smiling face, you check in online to get your room # and door code. This is not Vrbo, this is an inn and it should be behave like Wine and offer proper hospitality.

We made the mistake of staying here when traveling, because there was a snowstorm and the driving became unsafe. It is a little mom and pop sort of place, and there was no front desk staff, no morning coffee, no one to shovel the walk ways...no food. I guess we should have stayed at the Holiday Inn. Whoops. On the other hand, the room was quaint in that old New England style, and clean and the place was quiet!

Location is great for visiting the Lenox shops and restaurants. The shower and bed were nice and comfortable. It’s an old hotel so I’m sure it’s hard to keep it up but wear and tear was evident in the room and common areas. Weekend continental breakfast was very good.

I specifically requested 'hotels only' and didnt expect a bed and breakfast, with no overnight staff planned at my location. That said, it was a lovely room with a nice fireplace. Bathroom left a bit to be desired, as did breakfast.
