This is under new management. It was previously a Sleep Inn and is being renovated. I liked the pet friendly room on the first floor. The room key would not unlock the gym door. The fire alarm went off both Saturday and Sunday. The glass shower door has gap around it that leaked water on to the floor

Roaches and mold in the room. Desk worker claimed breakfast started at 6 AM, which worked out perfect as my son and I would need to be leaving for the entire purpose of our stay at 6:30 AM. Desk worker did not start to put out breakfast until 6:15 and finish until sometime after we had to leave. Would absolutely not Reccomend if you have any other option available.

When we first arrived, we noticed it was an older hotel. Front desk was kind, efficient and professional. Then came the room. Oh boy, old white dirty walls broken air conditioner vents, rusted and chipped front of the refrigerator, 1 of the beds looked like someone else had already been sitting on it. Called and asked for a clean room. Office staff was accommodating. Moved me to a second room. Second room had red spots (splatter) on the wall next to the sink which would have been right next to my head while standing at sink. Not sure exactly what it was. It was just red speckled all over. White walls with dirty smudge marks all along the side where the beds were. Freaky smell. Again, the staff was accommodating. At this point I was looking for a refund and wanted to change hotels. But since it was a 3rd party. There was no refund. So, I moved to a third room. Which was a little better, and this room was one of there a renovated room. Which felt cleaner, clean walls no rusted out refrigerator the beds were tightly made and looked clean. I was told at the beginning that the hotel is under renovation, but I did not get that notification online, nor did the pictures show any of the present state, it only showed the upgraded rooms. Pictures were not the same. Pool and area was clean.

I will start by saying the front desk person from my check-in day was quite nice and helpful. I wanted to change my check-out date but could not because I had booked through Expedia. However, they allowed me to check-in early as a way to help balance my loss of money for the last night. Additionally, I will say there was a sign qualifying the Wingate had recently been purchased and was under going a remodel. I wish I had been made aware prior to booking. In fact, I would say the quality of location reminded me of a low-rent motel with enclosed hallways. In general, the common areas of the hotel were dirty, and I only ate breakfast one time. It was quite bad. To qualify, I did not try the waffles. Also, the vending machines were mostly empty so make sure to bring your own snacks...and there was only one functioning ice machine at the location. I had a malfunctioning light over my sink and requested it to be fixed during my check-in day. I stayed a total of three nights and it was never fixed or replaced. The front desk person at the time of my request asked me a question I thought was weird. He asked if they had my permission for the maintenance person to enter my room. In short, if I had paid $40 - $50 dollars a night, I would have been satisfied and given them a 4 or 5 star rating. However, I did not, so I am given them a 2 rating.
