Comfy bed, friendly staff, quite room. Only mirrow was in the bathroom. Shower not very powerful
The family room was excellent, it had a separate area for the children to sleep so we were able to relax in the evening. The lady who greated us was so lovely, warm and helpful.
A clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel right in the town centre. Very quiet and plenty of free on-street parking just around the corner. Modernised facilities in an historic building.
Lovely building in a great location. No parking but street parking around the corner. Lovely bathroom with a huge roll top bath but not enough hot water to enjoy it, a shower would be more practical.
Nick was extremely helpful and made sure that everything was just right for us to enjoy our weekend stop-over in Leek. The Silk House is very well situated for all that Leek has to offer in terms of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. A perfect weekend and we will definitely stay again when we’re next in the area.
What more can I say? Stayed in a new room this time with a fabulous bathroom. Just a great place to stay. Won't stay anywhere else when I am.in Leek.

Helpful when I asked to change rooms from the noisey street-side room, still very warm on top floor. Disappointed in scratchy towels, telly with a line down it, was expecting much better for the price. Owner very friendly and chatty
Stayed there for valentines, Nick upgraded us to a better room as we were a couple which was lovely. I had a tyre blowout the next morning and he couldn’t do enough to help. Sourced me another tyre and got us going again. What a gent - would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Beautiful character property and garden area stunning. The host is a real true gentleman hes very kind and very friendly and approachable . Nothing is too much for him at all.we have stayed before and we will definitely be back again soon. We feel so at ease and relaxed and peaceful n safe . Very very convenient for everything you could want in a beautiful town like Leek . Perfect really honestly its beautiful n its very very reasonably priced. Needs a refresh, but a good and convenient place.
The location of this hotel is fantastic for visiting the middle of the town. The staff members we met were lovely and help. The overall was however met down by a tired looking room. Despite the building being grade 2 listed some definite improvements could be made. In our room, for example, the shower holder was broken so we couldn't take a shower without holding the nozel. The towel radiator was stuck on so the bathroom was roasting. The sealing around the sink wasn't done with much care. The biggest issue however, was the bed. For some reason the mattress that was on the bed was bigger than the actual bed frame. This meant that the outside 6 inches of the bed on both sides were unusable as the mattress would bend as there was no support. I would stay here again, but not for the full price of the room.
Overall a pleasant stay, the place just needs some tlc.
We only booked this hotel because it was advertised as having ‘parking available’ but it was general street parking - there was no designated parking which is obviously what we expected.
There was no bedside cabinet on one side - so no lamp, and no way to turn out the light except to get out of bed. The table lamp we did have was very cheap looking and flickered. There was no mirror in the room - only in the bathroom and that misted up after our bath. The Jacuzzi bath was good, if a little noisy. Water pressure wasn’t great. Our room faced the road so lots of traffic noise for most of the night. Host was welcoming and polite.
