This is an historic hotel, with characters. But there is no elevator, the staff helps to carry the luggage. Three floors, bed very uncomfortable and carpet in the room very dirty . Staff very polite and helpful.

Fantastic charming hotel. Highly recommend as an alternative to Buena Vista lodgings. This is an older property, so upgrading the AC would be nice, and there is no elevator. That said - we loved the lobby and restaurant downstairs and hope to stay again!

Beautiful hotel located in the heart of the town's main strip. Staff is very friendly, and street parking wasn't difficult (on a weekday). Although the room wasn't as updated as the stunningly renovated lobby/bar or tasty restaurant, the old fixtures and furniture only added to the charm. Room was clean, bed comfortable, and there was free coffee and homemade donuts in the morning! Would return!!

This is a VERY old historic hotel. Step back into 1880 and you'll be right at home. The floors are comically sagging to the point you feel yourself running downhill as you cross the room. There is electricity and running water but the bathroom was pretty rough. There is no elevator and we were put on the 3rd floor. We're 68 yrs old. We climbed it fine but lets just say no unnecessary trips were made. Wish we would have had breakfast here at the hotel because we went next door to the Golden Burro for breakfast and it was absolutely horrible. Nice friendly staff at the bar and the Lead Fashioned drink was terrific. Great location to walk to all Leadville has to offer. Mary never appeared to us but I'm sure she wanders the halls from time to time.

We really enjoyed this historic hotel. Be prepared for some stairs as there is no elevator and you may be out of breath if you aren't accustomed to the elevation (we came from sea level!) But it is worth it! The hotel is right in the center of town and very convenient to shopping, restaurants, the train station, the mineral belt biking trail, etc. We parked our car and then just walked (or biked) everywhere! The staff was very helpful and the restaurant was great.

Loved everything about staying at The Delaware except the stairs. Reading the reviews before going, I thought, oh they can’t be that bad. Well, if you’re not a young person, these steps will hurt ya’. The breakfast was great! Ambiance in lobby area was comfortable and quiet. Prices in shops in Leadville have become outrageous.

As historical hotels go, the Delaware was unique. We found the floors were very uneven, and the stairway was extremely steep. An elevator would be nice. The carpet in the bedroom bedroom was a little worn and we found a few rocks on the floor. Parking was relatively convenient. Overall good but needs work. The staff was excellent.

Everything was as advertised. The rooms and hallways are very historic. They told us they don't have an elevator so if you're not up for it rent second level rather than third. We were told parking might be a problem, but it wasn't for us. They have a parking lot which you can see from your room. The restaurant had great food for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We would recommend this stay for those interested in the local history of Leadville.
