The room was clean, nice, comfortable bed. Freedom Beat has good food. Parking is free and that’s a good thing. We stayed on Tues and Weds nights and it was still noisy until after 2 am. I saw the ear plugs in a basket offered at check in and knew what to expect. It wasn’t too bad with the tv on. The closest parking is across the street from the hotel and it filled up, so I had to go to the lobby and ask where to park . We had to park a block away in the hotels other lot. The area is very sketchy at night. Downtown is more of a lax street scene with many pan handlers, walking roamers, but parking in this area away from your hotel and with no visible security just isn’t a good idea. So the following night when we tried to park again at the closer lot, they tried to turn us away saying it was full, so I asked to try to park anyway. Luckily I found a spot. But the man at the enterance asked me to take a ticket to go in. Being a hotel guest I had a parking pass to get in, but I took the ticket anyway. The next day, on my way out, my pass didn’t work because of that, and I had to call the parking attendant. She was mean as heck, so rude, told me I had to use my pass to get in and out next time in a very demeaning way. She spoke to me like I was her 5 year old child who disobeyed. Glad I was checking out of there. I won’t ever check in again.
