My daughter was married in the hitel and many guests stayed overnight. The wedding was beautifully planned and executed. The staff were really helpful and kept things moving smoothly. They could not have done more for us. The preperation room for the bridecand her party was perfect

Stayed for one night whilst attending the Open golf at Troon. Quick check-in, spacious and clean room, fantastic Scottish breakfast. Will definitely stay again next time I’m on the west coast of Scotland. Thanks!

Lovely big room. Very clean. The bathroom was amazing with both a shower and separate bath. So clean that I went out to buy bubble bath to have a soak! Highly recommend this hotel!

Great stay in Largs

Lovely hotel, looked recently refurbished and very well situated on the edge of Largs, overlooking the beach, Cumbrae and the highlands and islands in the distance. Staff were all very helpful, breakfast had a good variety of items - both hot and cold, there is a safe, private car park and the bedroom and bathroom were both spotless and comfortable. Regular bus services made for easy travelling up the west coast for the ferry services at Wemyss Bay for Bute and Gourock for Dunoon if you wanted to ditch the car. Largs itself is a pretty seaside town with plenty of eateries and Gourock is also worth a trip for its pretty seaside promenade.

Attended and stayed for a wedding. Breakfast was a disappointment. Hard eggs, bacon fatty and greasy even when asked for this to be crispy. Bar poorly attended, had to go looking for staff each time to buy drinks. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were polite. Room was comfortable and great sea view.

Good location

Recently refurbished very pleasant hotel , though my room was rather small . A ‘big bear ‘ of mine us these absurdly small washbasins that hotels seem to b fitting . The plugs never work & the basin is too shallow so it’s impossible to wash one’s face without standing sideways on to the basin else you vang your head on the single tap . Shower screen too small so water splashes out into the floor saturating the bath mat , which in turn will very soon ruin the lovely flooring . Designers don’t seem to think if the actual practicalities . That said , it was a comfortable stay .

Give it a go.

Hotel was spotless and was being prepared for new opening under new owners. We stayed in a sea view executive suite which was huge with large bathroom with separate shower and big bath with jacuzzi.Tea and coffee making facilities were provided along with TV and WiFi. At the time of our stay there was no evening meals but that was changing after grand opening. Breakfast was great with choice of hot cooked or continental, cereal,juices etc. Staff were welcoming and helpful. So we had a lovely stay.

Looked amazing but didn’t live up to the hype

Looks amazing from the outside: right on the front. No lifts and no ground floor accommodation available (sure it didn’t say no lift at the time of booking: mobility issues mean stairs are a challenge). Room small, hot. No window view and some stupid green light remained lit on the ceiling all night (see photo).

Hotel looks great and our room with sea view was money well spent. Big problem with wi-fi in hotel and any body on business trip would find it very very difficult to get any reception. Hotel is trying to go up market but man in restaurant taking orders wearing a jumper didn't look very professional or in keeping with new look. My dinner of smokehouse BBQ burger was tasteless and it took 20minutes for our onion rings to appear and had to remind him. Breakfast was disaster after being seated waitress didn't return to take order and proceeded to take orders from 2 other couples ,who came in 10 minutes after us, after food arrived had to ask for our tea and coffee as it was not brought to table. If these teething problems are ironed out it would be a fabulous hotel. We will return to see if it has improved.

Bad service avoid if there is a wedding on

Paid for room and expressed I was getting married in the registry office next door it was on notes and was also confirmed on check in as I requested late checkout. Breakfast was really delayed because the wedding party who were using the hotel for their wedding had taken over the hotel. At 11am on the day of departure I had a knock on the door as my photographer whip was only in my room was told due to another wedding being hosted in the hotel that I was not allowed to go out the main entrance or be seen as heaven forbid someone saw me who was attending the hotel wedding so I was made to walk down a dirty fire escape, no apology, no discussion no respect that I was getting married too and had paid over the top in Largs to be next door to my venue. Very disappointing the hotel should not have accepted this booking or had made it clear. Very unprofessional and sub standard in their customer service I would certainly not recommend.

Location: Great on the sea front at Largs and next door to the famous Nardines restaurant. Parking: plenty of parking at hotel which is free. Note of caution: this is a hotel designed to host weddings. So depending on your stay there might be loud music until closing time (Midnight). Rooms: very comfortable and if you upgrade there is amazing views out to the sea. No air conditioning, but tea coffee making facilities. No fridge. Overall. Pleasant stay, safe quite location, but as I have said if wedding function may have to tolerate music until end of function. Decent breakfast, friendly staff and location is good.

The hotel is beautiful, and really clean. Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh. The thing that let this hotel down for me was the smoke/fire alarm in the room which was bright green with the lights off, which made sleeping difficult. They need to address this, as I wouldn't stay again because of it. It was like sleeping under a street light.
