“Fabulous pub with rooms in a perfect location for the castle, canal basin and a wander around the local shops. Onsite parking made for an easy arrival. “We stayed in the Linwood Suite for 1 night. The room was spacious, luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast was of a high quality. The room is immediately above the function area and noise travels easily (there was a wedding reception) - we weren't warned about this previously but it was not a problem as we went out to dinner and the noise quietened down before midnight. Unfortunately the experience was ruined by loud noise in the room. It was a mechanical noise which sounded like a generator...

“Disappointed there was no lift. And that our room didn't have a proper shower, just a hand held thing you had to kneel in the bath to use.”

“It was a perfect stay. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel even prepared a fan for the room. The breakfast was amazing and the kitchen staff made sure our needs are attended and came out to explain about the breakfast available for each and one of us. “There is ample parking, staff are friendly and helpful. Sadly the hotel building is very dated and in need of urgent updating and maintenance. The carpets are stained and smelly. The beddings and furnishing are old, stained and surfaces are always sticky ! Hairs human, and animal are everywhere . The bathroom is disappointing, leaky flush, cracked basin and water pressure is very low, taking showers is frustrating.
