We enjoyed Lamu, views are lovely, you can take a dhow to Shela which is pretty, there is shopping (clothes & souvenirs). Donkeys are quaint but they do leave droppings everywhere. Street hustlers can be annoying, but if you are firm they give up.

Beautiful island with different villages and coasts to visit and relax. Locals are very nice and friendly. We felt very safe here; staying in the Sheela Village. However; the Lamu village center should be visited with a guide during the day.
