Great location downtown. Staff helped us store luggage for a few hours. We got the room with its own bathroom and it was great for the one night we were there.

Cute, clean, and generally 👍👍👍

For such a communal space, the whole place—and especially the bathrooms—were remarkably sparkling clean. Plus the location is great, it’s cute… It’s a winner!

Cute little place, my new favorite. Easy checkin and slept comfy. Not hot water in hand sink, but that's OK. Towels were on the bed, place was ready for us when we arrived! Easy communication too. Thank you!

Great hotel but limited parking

This was a good place to stay in Truckee. Close to the resorts. My only issue is the limited parking. It was incredibly stressful trying to secure one of the limited overnight parking spaces, especially on a just weekend. For only this reason, I would not come back.

We loved this place. We stayed here with several friends for a disc golf tournament nearby. Loved the rich colors and almost haunted feeling, the low price. The shower heads are tall enough for my 6’9” husband. Check in and out is simple. The beds are comfortable which is most important for us. There’s no shampoo/conditioner so bring your own. Sheets/pillows/blankets/towels are all nice. Perfect for a place to rest without breaking the bank. We will be back!

This place is hard to review as they are giving you a feel for the “old west “. Shared bathrooms ( mostly ) Loud as it’s next to the Union Pacific main line and the doors loosely shut. They do give you a “white noise machine” and earplugs. It is located in town so you can easily get food and do some shopping. Also, parking is on the street and is paid parking between 10am to 6 pm. No AC also.

The room did not have any air conditioning instead they had a very loud fan and with the window open I heard every loud noise which caused me to lose sleep. With the weather and the conditions we’re going to be the same I decided to leave a day early. The property was very clean and unique.

I loved that there was halfway affordable accommodation in Truckee and the room was clean and bright. But West River was also somewhat awkward, especially given the price range of over $200/night which is cheap only by Truckee standards: my private bathroom had faucets which sprayed water out the sides, no shower curtain and no body wash soap (just an empty container). The place also felt a little unwelcoming, especially for a hostel: the initial hall felt like a combination of an empty brothel and an empty fast food restaurant.

This hotel was half the price of other hotels and

The photos online made the room look cute. The room was on the third floor and there was a very steep climb. I knew that the room would be small but, the room was very small with sloping ceilings. I hit my head getting out of bed and on the ceiling. Im 6ft tall. The bed platform is about 4in off the floor, old mattress, not very comfortable. Basically you have to sweat out of bed, onto your knees and not hit your head on the ceiling. The place is carpeted in what look like carpet samples from the 80’s. I have stayed at hotels with shared bathrooms and I have no problem with that. The problem was I was on the third floor and the bathroom was on the second floor. Getting up in the middle of the night and climbing down a flight of stairs has no fun. I was on a motorcycle and parking is practically nonexistent. Basically. They tell you to find parking were you can.
Only one room in the 3rd floor. The bathroom is on the second floor.

Had a great stay of several days. The room and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Mattress and bedding was very comfortable even though I have a sore back from time to time. Did not negatively impact my back at all!!! Plenty of hot water for showers - no issues at all. Staff on duty (Liam, the manager) was very helpful with local suggestions of places to go and things to do. I would without hesitation book here again!! The area has plenty of things to do and see all year round --- hiking, skiing, exploring, boating, sport fishing, river rafting, etc. There was even a rodeo nearby during my stay, including a concert. Movie theaters pretty close by also if it's a rainy day. Numerous good places to eat --- even a bakery/breakfast-lunch kitchen next door and a place to rent a kayak or bicycles. Terrific hotel and location.
