The hotel is nicely located in the historic center of La Rochelle at a walking distance to the beach and to main attractions. The check in was very smooth and we got to meet Cecile (the owner) in person. Prior to the check in she shared with us a file about what to do and where to eat proposals in the city. Room was nice; just enough for 2 adults with AC and bathroom. Cecile was nice enough to keep our luggage at premises after our check out. I would recommend “un hotel en ville” if you are looking for a place in La Rochelle.

Loved everything about this hotel. It’s in a quiet location within minutes of the port, very modern interior in a quirky old building, super friendly staff and the views from the terrace are fabulous!

Very clean, spruce and spacious room. Generally I prefer resident reception but we were given all the access information in good time for our evening arrival and it all worked perfectly. Cécile was present and most helpful in the mornings. I recommend taking the breakfast - fresh bread, delicious cake, jams from the island, fruit, yogurts and coffee/tea to taste - all for €10 pp. Not to be missed. If we go again - hope so - I'd chose a back bedroom. For some inexplicable reason the nightclubs on the square ejected patrons - French I'm afraid - at 4pm on a MONDAY night who roared at each other across the square outside. It seemed endless. Apparently there's a police number one can call for such delights but, well, we didn't. Centre ville and quayside La Rochelle are so close. Don't miss the free animal park in the leafy space up the sea road - giant donkeys, tiny goats and many many fowl. Sweet!

Quiet and comfortable

The setting is in a quiet square which was a boon, as all around the port was very noisy. The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning quiet ( barely needed as room was pleasingly cool) and the shower very effective( volume, heat and didn’t flood everywhere) . The room however was tiny for a double room. The charming staff are only in for check in and breakfast. There is a terrace with a lovely view.

This is a lovely hotel. Cecille the manager is so helpful and really good at communicating. The hotel is very central to the port, bars and restaurants. We had breakfast which was 12 euros but very good. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfy.

What a fantastic little find for our trip to La Rochelle. Everything we needed for a base. I didn't realise when booking, just how small the hotel was but that made it super personal as Cécile and Sarah took my phone number and relayed all the check in information over WhatsApp. It felt great knowing we had direct communication with someone and was a brilliant touch. The room was compact but had everything we needed for our stay; toiletries, TV, wifi and aircon. Breakfast was available for €10 but we didn't have to commit early on and we chose to go to the harbour. Staff were happy to offer suggestions which was great. Thanks for a lovely, very personal feeling stay in this beautiful part of France. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Helen & Steve
