Volcano Lodge is a beautiful property! My family enjoyed our stay so much. The staff is friendly, everything is clean and well maintained, and the restaurant is great especially the included breakfast buffet. I enjoyed walking the trail that goes around the perimeter of the property and saw several animals and many interesting plants right there on the property. The regular swimming pool is nice. The thermal pools are so fun and relaxing. The water is really warm. The best part is that they stay open very late so if you spend all day exploring La Fortuna you still have plenty of time to enjoy the thermal pools. We had a thermal superior room which had plenty of room for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) and the absolute BEST part was the private thermal pool. I wish we had more than 2 nights here and I hope to come back again someday.

This is a large, beautiful resort area. The rooms are a bit dated, but the landscaping more than makes up for it. Three (or so) thermal pools along with the main one. Friendly staff.

Daniella was outstanding. Answered all our questions and helped us choose an excellent activity, when we wanted something different than other activities we had arranged. The pools were great, uncrowded with several options. The grounds were spectacular and well looked after. Front desk was helpful. If you do not have a car, it is not walkable to town or off property attractions, you must take an uber or taxi. Included breakfast was very good.
