This resort lived up to our expectations. It was more expensive than other places, but they lived up to the expectation and went above and beyond in many different areas. We went for a honeymoon and they gave us many upgrades and made our experience really special. Food prices are high, but if you’re smart, you can still enjoy your time and pick some lower cost items that are fantastic.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My partner and I went to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an excellent choice. The spa, the food, the hot springs—can't wait to go back and take more people with us. We had a couples massage and did yoga while we were there. Our massage therapists were excellent and the setting of the spa pagodas was idyllic. So relaxing and refreshing.

Amazing place to stay. Came here for our honeymoon and don’t regret our time! Easy to get to and you feel right at home at the resort. The breakfast buffet was nice because they switched up the main dishes to include local cuisine. The restaurant in the resort was a little pricy, we preferred the restaurant and bar side at the hot springs.

Amazing resort and staff! We visited for our honeymoon and had a great time. Never seen anything like the hot springs before. Francisco cooks great food at the breakfast bar and is super friendly. The staffs attention to detail and service was unmatched. Everything was fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for a better trip.

Just returned from a stay at Tabacón. No lengthy review necessary it’s a perfect place to stay when in the Fortuna/Arenal area. The hotel has everything you need, is well maintained, great food and a staff beyond friendly and helpful. The room are clean but use a few upgrades here and there (tv in one room was dated compare with our daughter’s room with brand new tv). That’s a frivolous feature though, the thermal hot springs and the access the hotel provides is wonderful, constant short shuttle ride in a robe and in you are in the sultry spring water and awesome relaxing pools features. Concierge can get you booked in any activity or adventure you desire and there are many. Enjoyed a great 1/2 day boating and paddling onLake Arenal was a treat beautiful scenery and wildlife. Had a really nice stay look forward to returning someday.

We were in the property during August and it was raining almost everyday so couldn’t enjoy the full amenities but the hotel was very nice. Early morning we saw Coaties outside our room one day and peccaries the next day which was our highlight.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the service was amazing from start to finish. The staff was so polite, friendly, and always willing to help. Everything throughout the resort was very clean, and the setting truly felt like you were staying in the middle of a rainforest. The hot springs were incredible and made the whole experience even more special. We absolutely loved our stay at Tabacón and would definitely recommend it!

What can I say about the Tabacon except OMG! 3 things that stood out were the customer service, the impeccable coordination of the facilities, and of course the exquisite thermal spa. Ton checking in a golf cart takes you from the lobby to your room. Everything is accessible via the electronic bracelets that are provided at check in (this serves as your room key, gym access, (the gym is very clean), and allows you to charge things to the room such as gift shop purchases, meals, poolside service etc.) The breakfast buffet is available for a fee ; we got lucky to see the toucans each day high above the trees And the highlight of course was the magnificent thermal springs. It is normal to walk out of your room with your bathing suit on, and with a bathrobe over it (the one provided in the room) and saunter over to the lobby. The shuttle comes by every 5 mins; when you arrive at the springs, simply go to the towel dispensary and also get a locker key. And then off you go - exploring spring after spring. Some are cold (eg the hexagon pool), and others are warm; some have water falls and others are serene. One note is that the pools have different flooring (with some that are paved, and others that are a little rocky and mossy) - so tread cautiously till you figure your way around. Exclusive to hotel guests is the upper most secluded area called Shangri La comprising several pools and cabana side service. The whole experience is remarkable, unforgettable and restorative.
