Everything was great about this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful at all times of the day/night. We had a great view of the volcano from almost all sides of the hotel, saw many sloths the staff even gave us binoculars to use and other residents were friendly too. Breakfast was limited with only three options and you couldn't mix and match. Fresh fruits was served daily as well as fresh juice. We walked around the area during the day and night trying out different restaurants, souvenir shops, and locally owned businesses and felt completely safe. Everyone was friendly, they truly lived a Pura Vida lifestyle.

This hotel is a gem! The room was spacious and clean. Loved the tropical garden surroundings; plenty of bird species, some toucans, sloths, anteaters, all visible in the surrounding trees! Just marvellous! The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. And it was just slightly off the beaten path so not in the downtown hubbub, but very walkable to everything. Highly recommend this hotel!

Very nice property to stay at while visiting La Fortuna. The pool is really nice and the free breakfast is awesome! The staff were very nice and everything so clean. It is easy walking distance to many restaurants. The only downside was the shower hot water was just luke warm. Although we kept forgetting to tell the staff, so that one is on us.

We stayed two nights at Hotel Secreto. It’s a cute hotel right in the heart of La Fortuna. The rooms are small, but the view and local breakfast make up for it. Uriel, who works reception was super friendly—he made sure to point out the sloth that hangs out on the property to guests with a flash light at night. He also was full of ideas for local activities for us to schedule. Uriel made our stay perfect!

The location of El Secreto was amazing. Very walkable to downtown La Fortuna so plenty of food options. Uber is very active here so it was easy to get around town and to various tours. Breakfast each morning was tasty and they allowed for some substitutions. Plus was that they had AC as well which helped with the hot, humid weather. We enjoyed the pools as well!
