It's a beautiful property with some very nice pools and enough foliage that you can see quite a few critters right inside. It is right adjacent to a river but you don't actually have access to the river which is fenced. The staff was very helpful and seemed to be able to handle most special requests.

A Wonderful and Stunning Stay – Highly Recommend! We had a truly wonderful experience at Hotel Boutique Casa del Rio and would definitely go back. The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff here is wonderful—they were incredibly helpful and consistently went above and beyond to make our stay special. The massages we got at the spa were amazing. The drinks were excellent, and the food was very good. Our only minor suggestion for the menu is that we wish they would list out the ingredients for each dish. We loved everything about this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway!

Gorgeous safe and peaceful resort with many amenities near downtown! We didn’t have enough time to use all amenities but just walking around the lush garden was enough for us. Private hot tub was a plus! Every thing was great from the check-in with cold fresh coconut treat to daily yummy breakfast choices. The spa service is a must as well. I wish I could stay longer than 2 nites.

Hotel Boutique Casa del Río was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, the property is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for nature lovers. Our room was beautiful, and waking up to the soothing sound of the rushing river each morning was incredibly peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh tropical fruits, fresh juices, and a flavorful traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The view of the volcano from the restaurant in the morning was breathtaking. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel, and the food was equally delicious and full of flavor. What truly made our stay exceptional was the service. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to please, but Ramses and Maria deserve special recognition. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay and were the true definition of exceptional customer service. This was honestly one of the best hotel service experiences I’ve had to date. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, amazing views, and outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend Casa del Río and will definitely be back! 🌿🇨🇷

Absolutely wonderful hotel! An amazing space that feels like staying in a rainforest but with all the amenities you could ask for. Simply spectacular. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for so many reasons: its location, the excellent value for money, the outstanding quality of the food, and the river, which brings a unique sense of life and energy to the property. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a swim in the river thanks to the perfect weather, and that experience became the highlight of our wonderfully relaxing stay. The photos simply do not do this place justice.

Beautiful hotel, room with kitchen and hot tub was nice. Staff communicated immediately through WhatsApp whenever needed. Best hotel breakfast service we have ever had. Hotel was about a 20 min walk into town or just a few mins to the swinging rope on the Rio Fortuna. Only room for improvement would be some more hooks in the room to hang rain jackets etc… You could stay here and never have to leave the property the entire time.

Very clean and quiet resort. It was huge with so many amenities. Our room looked exactly like the pictures. Only thing to note is the property is about a 15 minute walk from the main town with restaurants so be prepared for that if you did not rent a car.

We didn’t realize we were booking a stay in the actual rainforest. Our living room is outdoors effectively along with the bathroom, while the bedrooms were contained. A bit of a surprise to us (maybe we didn’t do our research) but we absolutely loved it. The food was great, but the service was absolutely over the top amazing.

As many folks have already mentioned, pictures do not do justice to this place. We stayed in a deluxe 2 bed villa and we loved it. Breakfast was very good as well. If hot springs is not a priority for your stay, this should be your go to hotel in La Fortuna area.

Casa del Río is truly beautiful and perfectly serene. The setting feels peaceful from the moment you arrive, and the breakfast each morning is wonderful. The staff is incredibly helpful, and the grounds themselves are so special they deserve to be part of anyone’s La Fortuna itinerary.
