Phenomenal property. I would highly recommend booking with meal service, it’s truly a world class japanese meal you’re treated to. We booked a room with a private onsen, which was great to have after a long day of sightseeing. The room was very large, with all modern amenities and many complimentary items to eat and drink. It’s not quite a traditional Ryokan but it’s close. Tatami mats, no shoes inside, a lovely Japanese garden we could see from our veranda. We stayed here for one day in the middle of our trip and it really helped us recharge after lots of walking and touristy stuff. Would definitely stay here again. Truly a beautiful property and a great place to take a break from the usual tourist attractions while in Japan.
Amazing treat! We wanted to experience a ryokan and onsen. Beautiful property and food was amazing; thank you chef for stopping by our table! The staff was so attentive and didn’t miss a thing; first class!!!
Worth the price.
Great stay
Booked room with open air onsen.
I would recommend any room as you can just book private onsen for 50mins.
Staff were fantastic
This place is where you want to go when you need to time to relax on your vacation. The shuttle bus provided from Kameoka is very convenient. Our room was very spacious and the private open air onsen was amazing. It was perfect to relax during our very busy travelling across Japan. The amenities, kaiseki and staff’s hospitality were exceptional. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and I think next time booking for 2 nights would be ideal to enjoy the full experience!
I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. It's a hidden gem just outside of Kyoto for the perfect romantic getaway and exquisite culinary experience. I didn't want to leave
The resort is very comfortable, the room decor is a little old but it's very clean. The onsen is very comfortable!
Our room overlook the zen garden which is very nice!
The food is amazingly good, the chef also came and greet each table near the end which was very nice :)
This place is where you want to go when you need a vacation from your vacation. The kaiseki dinner/breakfast was truly memorable, each dish/bite left me wanting more. Chef Sinji Kobayashi is truly talented! Our room was spacious and onsen overlooked a spectacular view. The amenities and staff’s hospitality were above our expectations. Would highly recommend!
This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Beautiful resort, the indoor onsen felt amazing, beautiful and the most delicious kaiseki-ryori, wonderful staff who treat you like an honored guest. I came out of the resort floating on a cloud of happiness. Thank you so much for everything.
This was our first time staying at an onsen and first time traveling outside the city in Japan. The staff made everything so easy and welcoming. We traveled by train and were picked up at the station by the hotel shuttle. The area surrounding the onsen is so beautiful and quiet.
The room was amazing and much larger than expected. I highly recommend a room with a private bath. Dining options are limited but we did not explore outside the hotel. We enjoyed the kaiseki style dinner. It was a very unique experience and would love to try it again. The staff provided exceptional service and really made the whole stay so much better. Would stay again even if just for a night.
The Resort was an amazing, magical experience from start to finish. The greeting, room and clothing preparation was lovely and quick with enough time to get clothed and set up before dinner. Each course during dinner was prepared beautifully and despite some fear around what we might be served everything tasted just as mind blowing as it looked. The drink selection we were given paired perfectly with the food and the personal touch of the chef coming mid way and asking our opinion about the food was perfect. Our personal waitress had a great sense of humor and did very well at explaining how to properly eat what was presented to us. The grounds were beautiful and helped settle us into the restful state of mind we needed. The private bath you can reserve was well worth it and the perfect temperature to relax in. I would gladly return for future stays here again. Thank you so much for the amazing stay!
From the moment we set foot into the ryokan, we felt like we were able to relax completely thanks to all the amazing service of staff at the hotel!
We booked a western room with private onsen- the room was spacious with modern elements, very thoughtfully designed and very welcoming.
For our dinner kaiseki meal, it was one of the best meals we had while we were in Japan. It was meticulously designed from the flavour, to portion, to how it was presented. It left a lasting impression on us. The same goes to breakfast, it was simply delicious.
We booked a private onsen at the hotel, it was an outdoor onsen attached to a little house with a resting areas filled with amenities. We had a great time there too!
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and if we could, we would definitely stay for 2 nights next time to fully enjoy the entire experience.
P.s. photos don’t do justice for this hotel. It’s super beautiful.
