A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location!

Amazing service and room. On check in, service desk has kindly inform us that our original room has an issue with the private bath and that they are still working on it. They kindy offered us an upgraded room which we happily accept. Turns out the upgraded room was so amazing that it left us with the best impression of what Japan has to offer. We are grateful for Togetsutei’s amazing hospitality.

Nice convenient onsen hotel

Very nice authentic onsen hotel, conveniently located just next to the Togetsu-kyo bridge. Private bath in room is also nice and clean, food is good up to general onsen hotel standard, you can see food has been prepared with lots of thought.

Perfect Ryokan experience

Amazing ryokan. Perfectly located and the rooms with Japanese bath overlooking the bridge are incredible. Dinner and breakfast are well worth including for a true Kyoto Ryokan experience.

This is an awesome place to stay. We had our own en-suite onsen and a waterfall. We loved the minimalist Japanese decor and enjoyed sleeping on the comfortable mattresses on the floor. A wonderful ryokan experience!

The staff attended to all of our needs and requests. They were so kind and helpful. The Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were beautiful, various and delicious. Amazing stay. At the end of the Togetsukyo bridge close to a number of eateries. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Appears it was only stairs with no shoes in the hotel. Had a river side view with personal hot bath.

Amazing Ryokan experience. Our shoes were even warmed on one of the days. They even provided ice water for after the onsens. Definitely recommend splurging for one of the rooms with the in room private bath.

We wish we stayed longer! From entering, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We stayed 1 night but the room was one of our favourite parts of the entire trip. The rooms were comfortable, lots of space and the open air bath in the room was amazing. If we find our way back to Japan, we will definitely come back. We did not use the other baths in the facility due to us having tattoos but the room was enough. I’m sure they were just as great!

The property was very nice and the staff are so wonderful; they really go out of their way for the service. We had a relaxing stay, using the gender split onsen and also the Japanese bath tub in our room. The property was covered in scaffolding when we were there, they must be doing some external renovations. The view from our bath tub would've been nicer without the scaffolding. The breakfast in the morning was also great!
