The location is excellent—only a 15–25 minute walk to Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace, and the Gion area. We stayed for three nights, obverse the hotel is a great stay. The moment we entered the smell of fresh lavender hits you. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. There’s an onsen you can use and and on site restaurant we did not try. Location was fairly convenient and on a side street so you are not on a major road. There are some nice shops and bakeries around we worship we had a chance to visit. Only downside for us was the sides of the room was small. With two luggages and a backpack there was barely room to walk by. Would stay again in a bigger room.

Pretty much everything is spot on. This place makes you feel welcome. The daily breakfast is at the same level of a 5 star hotel. Everyone was really amazing. We loved staying in this area of Kyoto. It’s a fantastic location very close to many cool boutiques and within easy walking distance of the market. Our room had a comfortable king bed, and we especially enjoyed the public bath experience that’s included with the hotel. The little extras were a nice touch, like the Nespresso machine and fruit-infused water available at the front reception. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel also has laundry facilities, which we found very convenient during our trip. My only small comment is that I didn’t love the pillow, and there didn’t seem to be other options available. That said, everything else was excellent, and I would still rate this hotel a 10/10.
