Loved the ambiance, getting a Yukata which I wore throughout my stay. No lines for the Onsen which was very relaxing. Meals were served in private booths, also very relaxing.

We really enjoyed our stay! Staff were friendly and facilities were very clean. Only thing that could have made it better is the position of the smoke room. When the doors would open/close, the smell of smoke would easily get inside which made the first half of the lobby smell like smoke. Other than this, we had a great time!

AMAZING! We were instantly wowed when we walked into the property. Free ramen at night, free ice cream, private baths and amazing amenities were icing on the cake. Super easy walk into the gorgeous river area and town center made this resort even more attractive. Beauty all around you. Walk to the famed Bamboo Grove was about 15 mins and very picturesque. My parents and friends opted for on site massage and they absolutely LOVED it. It was so cute to see the guests walking around the resort in the resort provided pajamas and kimonos. We were sad that we only booked for 1 evening. My hubby wanted to come back and stay here for a week. Loved every minute we were at the resort.

Great experience of a non Western stay. Staff was all very friendly, room was comfortable, hot soaks were AMAZING after a few very active days of walking. We opted for a lighter dinner in the bar area and had an amazing time with great views of the garden. Breakfast was delicious and a new experience that we loved.

It's arashiyama so it is a quiet area, if you are planning to eat , eat before 5 . Luckily it's right by the station and a convenience store. If you do not speak Japanese skip, the staff treat you very poorly and are not comfortable speaking in English. When we walked over to the receptionist she did not say hello just demanded our passports. We started speaking our elementary Japanese and she lighted up. In addition the hotel charges more to foreigners try looking them up with a Japanese VPN on expedia and you'll see you can save $300 or more dollars. They really don't want forigners there just our money.

I had no idea what I was getting into. This is a super cool hotel if you want a true Japanese Onsen experience. You start with taking your shoes off and doning either pajamas they provide or your pick of Kimonos ( not sure if what men wear are Kimonos but nonetheless) which they also have for you. Then you head off to either a private bath ( pick the third or the 5th one if you want to be outside)or the public bath ( split for men and women). After bathing you can get a massage, have a traditional dinner or change and walk into town and see the Bamboo forest, temple, take a river boat ride or shop and eat. Plenty to do. It is on the one side of the City and the Golden Temple and the big food market is on the opposite side. To go to the Golden Temple requires you take the train that is across the street 3 stops, transfer and work your way into the opposite side of the city. Assume its an hour if you time all the trains right. Overall, it was an awesome experience!

Amazing place to stay with attentive staff, centrally located and quiet in beautiful Arashiyama, conveniently situated right across the street from the train station. No need to worry about noise, as the station is the end of the line, thus service is not as crowded or frequent. The staff were fantastic and even had a small gift for my girlfriend when we checked in on her birthday. The private onsens were delightful, clean, and super convenient to use. The food was wonderfully traditional and quite an impressive spread. Rooms were traditional and very spacious, especially coming from Tokyo. Location provided exactly what we wanted from or visit to Kyoto, and the local town of Arashiyama is stunning. Would highly recommend this onsen resort for anyone desiring a relaxing retreat in a beautiful and idyllic quiet town.
