Loved this place. Right in the heart of the Gion district but on a quiet street. The room was surprisingly big and we loved having a washer/dryer. We were in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, temples etc. Would highly recommend.

This was one of our favourite places to stay on our trip. It really was more like a studio apartment vs. a hotel. It’s in a quiet area, but really easy to get to where you want to go by walking. The room was really large and it was nice to have in suite laundry. The bathroom was also massive, which was a nice change and there was a separate shower area. It’s self check-in and there’s a secure place you can leave your luggage at check-out if you’re not travelling hntil later in the day. We had a few questions for the hotel staff and they were super quick to respond via messages in the app. The cleaning staff around the building were also really friendly.

We loved our little apartment and were happy to have a washing machine and drying rack for our clothes. This felt like a comfy studio apartment much more than a hotel room, and the location was perfect.

Washer and dryer were phenomenal. The location could not have been more unique and close to all. It was a quiet building and close to the river. Quick responses from owners and super kind! Thank you for a great stay. If you are trying to decide whether to stay, you should. You wont be disappointed!!!!

This was our favorite hotel of our Japan trip. It’s like a small apartment with kitchen area and a large room with plenty of space for our luggage. Washer and dryer was a lifesaver. It rained on our of our days in Kyoto and the umbrellas they provide up front were much appreciated

The property was in a quiet alley and just a short walk away from the popular Gion and Kiyomizu districts, plus bus stop and 7 Eleven. The facilities had everything we needed, I loved the in-room washing/ dryer machine in particular.

This was located right in the heart of Gion but far enough from crowded areas to be quiet and close to the more modern side of Kyoto and metro stop. The room had everything you could want with plenty of space to spread out. The hosts were also incredibly nice and were very responsive to us. We would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel is in an excellent location with walking distance to many of the popular places. The room is a bit small but it offers a kitchenette which we can make our own meals. However, there is NO front desk and everything relies on either phone or messaging. The response from the hotel is often slow and sometimes ignored. In our case, we stayed three nights and asked twice to get fresh towels, and in the end nothing happened. Quite disappointed.

This property was close to lots of main attractions in Gion. Literally around the corner from Yasui Kampiragu Shrine, and a 3-5 minute walk from Kennin-ji Temple. Also less than ten minutes walk to turn the corner and see the Yasaka Pagoda, and explore Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka streets. Pontocho Alley also an easy walk. The room was clean, and the ammenities were good quality - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste and hair dryer all provided. Loved having a washer/dryer in the room, although we did have to hang our clothes for them to finish drying. Just on the next street is an excellent coffee & breakfast shop that opens early - Full House Gion. The proprietors here at Ina House Gion were very quick to respond to any messages we sent them through Expedia, and went out of their way to be helpful. If you arrive prior to check-in time, they will store your luggage for you. There is a vending machine with drinks available in the downstairs common room. They don’t work directly with Yamato luggage for any luggage transfers, but there is a Yamato office less than a block away. The sofa bed for an extra person isn’t the most comfortable in the world - it’s rather hard, but it served just fine for the four nights we were there. Despite being so close to so many tourist attractions, the hotel was very quiet and peaceful in the evenings and at night. All in all, if traveling to Kyoto, I would highly recommend this place.
