Washer and dryer were phenomenal. The location could not have been more unique and close to all. It was a quiet building and close to the river. Quick responses from owners and super kind! This was our favorite hotel of our Japan trip. It’s like a small apartment with kitchen area and a large room with plenty of space for our luggage. Washer and dryer was a lifesaver. It rained on our of our days in Kyoto and the umbrellas they provide up front were much appreciated

This was located right in the heart of Gion but far enough from crowded areas to be quiet and close to the more modern side of Kyoto and metro stop. The room had everything you could want with plenty of space to spread out. The hosts were also incredibly nice and were very responsive to us. We would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel is in an excellent location with walking distance to many of the popular places. The room is a bit small but it offers a kitchenette which we can make our own meals. However, there is NO front desk and everything relies on either phone or messaging. The response from the hotel is often slow and sometimes ignored. In our case, we stayed three nights and asked twice to get fresh towels, and in the end nothing happened. Quite disappointed.

This property was close to lots of main attractions in Gion. Literally around the corner from Yasui Kampiragu Shrine, and a 3-5 minute walk from Kennin-ji Temple. Also less than ten minutes walk to turn the corner and see the Yasaka Pagoda, and explore Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka streets. Pontocho Alley also an easy walk. The room was clean, and the ammenities were good quality - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste and hair dryer all provided. Loved having a washer/dryer in the room, although we did have to hang our clothes for them to finish drying. Just on the next street is an excellent coffee & breakfast shop that opens early - Full House Gion. The proprietors here at Ina House Gion were very quick to respond to any messages we sent them through Expedia, and went out of their way to be helpful. If you arrive prior to check-in time, they will store your luggage for you. There is a vending machine with drinks available in the downstairs common room. They don’t work directly with Yamato luggage for any luggage transfers, but there is a Yamato office less than a block away. The sofa bed for an extra person isn’t the most comfortable in the world - it’s rather hard, but it served just fine for the four nights we were there. Despite being so close to so many tourist attractions, the hotel was very quiet and peaceful in the evenings and at night. All in all, if traveling to Kyoto, I would highly recommend this place.

This accommodation is in a quiet street but very central to everything. We had a balcony room and it was nice being able to open the window and door. Clear instructions are provided making check in easy. There is secure storage for luggage in the accessible lounge area available before and after check out. There is a vending machine in the lounge and a machine dispensing water, and free excellent quality coffee and tea. I highly recommend this property. I also recommend Full House cafe on the next street for coffee and breakfast. The owners are friendly and speak English. A 2 minute walk is a delightful eel restaurant called Kikutani Chaya Unatori うなぎ屋 菊渓茶屋うなとり (can message on Instagram to book). Gion Kirara 祇をんきらら Offers excellent value set menus at night and you can walk in (valuable when busy!). A 6 minute walk walk is a delightful new shabu shabu offering Kobe and other beef cuts. Good value and a delightful dining experience. Staff are very enthusiastic. kyoto wagyu sukiyaki shabushabu tominojo gionyasakaten 京都和牛すき焼きしゃぶしゃぶ 富之上 祇園八坂店. Booking recommended but can walk in. I recommend the audio guide if you go to the Miyako Odori which I highly recommend. Don’t bother with the tea ceremony as all you do is file in and out, eat your sweet, keep your plate and get your green tea and drink it. No explanation though the Geisha and Maiko are serving a few teas so you see them.

Idéalement situé : bus direct de la gare (206 ) à 3 pas de l'hôtel, visite à pieds de Gion, rues typiques, parc, temples, etc Il n'y a pas de personnel à l'accueil ( code) mais la direction est aisément joignable et répond immédiatement, très à l'écoute.
