The hotel was close to the Kyoto station which is a the highlight of staying in the hotel. We traveled from Kansai Airport with 2 luggages and children (5y /o and 1 y/o). Imagine the hassle of doing it in a foreign country for the first time. So I recommend the hotel if you need a place to stay that’s near the station. It may not be the newest place you stay but amenities and cleanliness are excellent. Staff are helpful and accommodating.

The building is outdated and they are closing next month. Old doesn’t have to mean unclean: however, the bathroom needed good scrubbing. The location of the hotel was excellent. You can walk underground walkway to Kyoto station Bus depot, and there are lots of options for dining at Porta. The breakfast offered wide selection of food which we all enjoyed.

Overall really good stay with my senior parent. Staff was patient despite the large crowd coincidentally arriving at the same time as we did and handling was professional although they seemed somewhat stressed with the large crowd.
