The DoubleTree was sensational: accommodating staff, perfect location by the train and river, and walking distance to numerous dining options. It’s just one train stop or an 8-minute taxi ride to the city center. We loved our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were all excellent and it was very clean. The room was nice. The breakfast buffet was good as well. Our only complaint was that the drinks in the lobby bar were way overpriced which did not anyway match the ambiance or the quality of the products offered. The lobby area in general was a bit rough, the set up was not inviting. Overall though the staff and the room made the stay excellent.

This hotel is pretty new and very clean. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful. The rooms were spacious for Japanese standards. It is also within 20-30 minutes walking from everywhere you’d want to go in Kyoto. I’d recommend this hotel to others.

Property to in a great location, easy to walk 20 min to almost everywhere. And located right by subway. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room is very good, ask for an extra luggage rack if 2 large suitcases. Onsen if excellent late afternoon after walking and gym is great. Look forward to staying again.
