Truly loved our home base in Kyoto. Staff was so helpful and patient. The 2 twin bed room was perfect for my son and I. Comfortable beds on the firmer end. The shower and water pressure were heavenly. The restaurant was delicious particularly for dinner and the bar a perfect stop after a long day. They handled shipping our luggage easily. Really enjoyed our stay. Can't think of a negative thing to say except maybe install more wall hooks in the room to hang clothes and a laundry service would be nice. We walked to a coin laundry and it was fine. Would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at ASAI Kyoto Shijo hotel, it was our first time in Kyoto and the location was great! Really easy to get around yet at a quiet and peaceful area. The rooms were small yet functional and very very clean! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and even at checkout the lobby manager carried our luggage all the way to the taxi. I’ve never experienced such kind service at any hotel. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again next time we’re in Kyoto.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it one of nicest hotel we've ever stayed at. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and every detail of the hotel was beautifully designed. A cool, trendy ‘hangout’ hotel close to pretty much everything in Kyoto, with some great places nearby to eat and drink. Breakfast was a very limited menu, which, after four days, was a bit repetitive… and we were surprised to not have any tea or coffee in the room - just a kettle and mugs.
