Well placed hotel for walking to many places in Kuching. The complimentary breakfast is Spartan but there are many eateries for breakfast close by. Nice pool.

Pros: location can't be beaten, affordable, stunning heritage building, great onsite restaurant, included breakfast (toast and coffee), staff were nice, tour desk, lots of cute spots to sit and chill Cons: soo many stairs- only book if you can haul your bags up 3+ flights of stairs, room wasn't very clean- dead bugs, mould in shower, pool out of action- maybe due to the haze from forest fires?, stained sheets and towels, not cleaned during stay. The noise from temple across the road was deafening- drums and cymbals until midnight made sleep impossible. This isn't the hotel's fault, however when I came down to talk to them at 11pm the first night considering checking out, they said it wasn't every night, however it was all 3 nights I stayed there.

A great place to stay. Right by the waterfront and close to all the local shops and restaurants. Neat experience to stay in a heritage building in the heart of Kuching. Was a bit loud but the close proximity to the sites definitely makes up for it. Getting to the parking was a bit tricky but eventually you’ll find it. Will definitely recommend this hotel again!

If you like a hotel with character this is the place for you. Reception staff were great, there is a pool where you can chill. Wifi was good and if you don't want to leave the grounds, nice reception rooms to read. Will be back..

A more rustic feel to your stay in Kuching instead of the usual high-rise hotels in concrete buildings with no character. Very central location. It is also very near to local bars, so it can be quite noisy during Friday and Saturday nights if you get the rooms on Chapel Wing.

Excellent food at the restaurant on the property! Yes, it's old but it has a lot of style. If you're looking for extra hot water with high water pressure keep looking. But if you like unique style, this is the place. The stairs may be challenging for some.

Fantastic place

Overall an amazing place to stay in kuching, especially if your looking for somewhere with some character. The place is rustic with a few little bits which arent perfect, but place is really interesting, with lot of history and also really clean. The hotel is near the old town and china town, with lots of bar and restaurants nearby and short was to the river front. Bedroom are small but everything you need, both bed and bathroom were immaculate! - (photos are from check out). Staff were fantastic and really helpful and we book to tour through them which were also really well organised. Breakfast is basic but again every is clean and idea to set you up for the day. Honestly don't have a bad word to say. If we get a chance to visit kuching again, we would definitely book here again.

Fascinating building with a really great ambience and located very conveniently for the waterfront and many great dining options. Room was comfortable but being on the 1st floor there was a lot of noise from the room on the floor above (heavy footsteps, things being dragged or dropped), something I guess is unavoidable in an old building.but maybe they could alert guests to be a little more considerate. Also no supplies like soap or hand towels in the bathroom. Shower gel was provided but in an awkward place to reach if you just wanted to wash your hands.

A group of us stayed here, visiting from Montreal. It's charming verging on rustic, if you know what I mean :) Likes: walkable to a lot of places, the pool Watch outs: beds aren't all that comfy, lots of stairs depending on where your room is (no elevator) Rooms get hot, but find the 'turbo button on the remote and you're golden. Good budget travel option!

Very conveniently located at the Kuching Waterfront. It can get noisy because of festivities at the nearby temple including drums and firecrackers. There are a lot of stairs especially if you stay on the second floor and no elevators. It’s a historic property so it lacks the amenities of a hotel. For short stays up to a week.

Really lovely place to stay in Kuching in walking distance of the waterfront And with plenty of character. There are some great views from the communal areas and a lovely swimming pool. The staff were helpful and the breakfast nice but basic. The surroundings are quite noisy so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Would highly recommend this place to stay!

Adorable hotel in the heart of Kuching

This hotel is beautiful and full of character. It was perfect for a weekend trip to Kuching. The breakfast was excellent, and the nearby bar is far enough from the hotel to not cause any noise issues. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of Kuching withing walking distance to the waterfront, shopping areas, and nightlife. The staff was friendly, and the hotel exceeded all of my expectations.

The " breakfast' is coffee or tea and white bread. If you are mobility impaired,in poor health or have heavy luggage there are many,many stairs from reception just to ground floor and very dangerous narrow stairs to upper floors. No elevator. It's a lovely hotel but the stairs could be a major issue for many people!

The Marian was a huge surprise, a small reception area…then upstairs you are greeted by a beautiful garden and an inviting pool, both immaculately cared for, and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The room was gorgeous, my only issue being we found it difficult to get warm water in the shower. Overall though, great staff, great location and a few great cats too!
