The hotel offers clean and spacious rooms in a very convenient city-centre location, with many popular attractions within walking distance. Its location right in the middle of the famous Jalan Alor street-food area is a major advantage if you want to experience the local food scene.
However, the location also comes with a few drawbacks. From around 6 PM to 3 AM, access for taxis and ride-hailing cars to the hotel lobby is very limited because of the busy street market. We often had to walk around 100 metres with our luggage to meet our cab. There was also a strong durian smell throughout the hotel at times, which was understandably due to the surrounding street market. Cleanliness could also have been a little better.
That said, considering the price point, I felt the hotel offered good value for money. We spent most of our time outside exploring the city, so the location was far more important to us than having luxury hotel facilities. The staff were friendly, helpful and cooperative, which made the stay pleasant.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel, especially for travellers looking for a reasonably priced, centrally located property. Just keep in mind that this is more of a 3-star property rather than a 5-star hotel, so expectations should be set accordingly.
