One of the most thoughtful room furnishings hotel/guesthouse I came across, all to keep guests comfortable and having privacy. Dinner menu was sufficient and delicious, breakfast was pretty standard but effort is definitely put in making it. Location is fantastic, away from bustling touristy roads and I even managed to capture a few Northern Lights during the one night stay.

It was a nice place to take refuge after a lot of driving on a rainy day. It used to be a school, it was fun to see the old pictures. The staff was very helpful. It was convenient to have the restaurant right there. Breakfast was also very nice.

This was an amazing hotel. Looks very new, large windows in common areas with a nice view. Rooms were basic and very clean. Double black out blinds really helped with the sleep in summer months. You can tell owners put a lot of thought into this hotel. I can 100% recommend this hotel!

Excellent location and very well maintained property. One of the only locations with staff on duty with great customer service. Breakfast was excellent with good selection of food choices. The only negative were the millions of potholes on the road leading up to the property but that’s the job of the city/town officials not the property owners. Highly recommended.

This was a great find and we really enjoyed our stay of one evening. I was travelling with my partner, it was easy to find. Friendly, welcoming staff that greeted us for our check in. If you’re going to be late for your check in, let them know in advance and I’m sure they can accommodate you with easy instructions. Our room was comfortable, private bathroom is always a plus. They offer breakfast but it’s not included. This stay is great for solo travellers, partners and even families from what I saw. There aren’t really any dining options around that I noticed, the property is kind of tucked away but there is a communal kitchen, cozy communal lounge rooms, good views, I think I noticed a ping pong table and in the back there is a fun little playground for children and there’s even a trampoline! It was a great stay and I recommend to anyone that is considering. Thank you Hotel Skulagardur for the wonderful stay!

Beautiful quiet riverside location. Really enjoyed my stay here. Greeted at reception by a lovely chap (Leonardo?) who was very welcoming and organised some soup for me within minutes of my arrival. The room was warm clean and comfortable. Being out of season (mid October) there were only a few guests staying but there was always a member of staff available. I can highly recommend this place.

I will absolutely recommend this hotel to my friends, nice and quiet rooms, aesthetically furnished space for breakfast, reception and lounge. I guess it’s been renewed not so long ago. Photos online doesn’t look that good as it is in reality. We enjoyed our stay. View from the window also was great (expect plastic bad with garbage haha), but well yes, all was good.

Nice little Hotel/Guesthouse. Staff was very kind and helpfull. The rooms are in good shape. Only limited TV channels but to be honest who is in Iceland for watching TV! Surrounding is great as you have the Dettifoss and other nice viewpoints in the near surrounding. They serve a breakfast in the morning which was good. Not too overloaded but a selcetion for everyone.
