The Bridge-to-Somewhere. One of 3 sister bridges (the Bridge-to-Nowhere and the Bridge-to-Elsewhere being the other 2). It's a detour off the Forgotten World Highway. When we did it, the road had been washed out 2 months previously so take your time driving to it.
Between Strafford and Taumarunui there's a 155km road called the Forgotten World Highway. It can be done in a day but we took our time and did it over 2 days. It's beautiful! Definitely one of my favourite things we did in the North Island. Make sure to fill up your petrol at either end as there's no petrol stations along the route.
Damper Falls
The Bridge-to-Elsewhere. One of 3 sister bridges (the Bridge-to-Nowhere and the Bridge-to-Somewhere being the other 2). You cross this bridge as you're coming into or leaving Whangamomona.
