The access to the sea was most convenient. Don't forget your sandles, the paths can get very hot! The pools and surroundings are very nice. The planting of plants and trees gives a homely feel. Thoroughly enjoyed

Not a bad place. A bit tired and scruffy though. Staff are perfect. Lots of building work going on at the time I was there. I did book the cheapest room and you could tell. Old, damaged furniture and generally tired. But it wasn’t expensive. I wouldn’t go again but it wasn’t horrible.

The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the beach and music. The restaurants near the resort was great. The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. I would most definitely stay here again.

Location is great, overall condition of resort is aged. Some sections are revamped and chalets around pool area are dark furnished and aged. Pool is undersized for room capacity and pool music could be turned down a few notches so people can talk normally. Overall ok but definitely far from great. Million dollar question, would we return, sadly no.

The villa I stayed in was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. location wise it was brilliant, right next to the lovely beach and only a short walk to the local nightlife. I would definitely stay here again for the price.

Very good location - right in the middle of chaweng (a two minute walk to quality bars/restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc), and at the same time located on the beach - can easily walk barefoot onto the middle of chaweng beach. My room was fifteen metres from the sand. Good value for money. The real downside, the compromise, is that it’s not the best in terms of fixtures and fittings, decoration and cleanliness, and the surrounding site is in parts detelict. But they do seem to be working on and improving the property and the staff are always very helpful. So overall it’s a compromise I’ve been happy to make and shall stay again.

Proximity to the beach was great and staff are so nice. Didn’t like warm beer,small bar,poor food in restaurant and the rooms need seriously updating,we paid over £1000 for a beach room supposed to have internet and tv but it didn’t,the front door was falling apart,the bed was saggy but big,the rail around the balcony was falling down and patio door don’t lock,needs money spending to bring upto standards,says 3 star but more like a 1 star accommodation.

If wanting a cheap and safe Chaweng stay with a beachside resort resturant and infinity pool with a bar, cheap as awesome beachside massage, views and swimming beach then Al's might be a good choice. Location in Chaweng is smack bang in the middle of where action lovers want to be...100m down beach from Ark Bar meaning you can enjoy watching their nightly fire displays but you wouldn't want to be closer if not wanting to hear "dub dub dub " music till 2am ! Thai Boxing stadiums 10 min easy stroll. Samui Central walking mall & Chaweng awesome market hardly a 5 min stroll. The Hotel is aged and tired but for the value of a Garden Queen room it's way better than what the same price gets you in my country.. New Zealand. Like any Thai resort the staff are beautiful. Those who like value or backpacking need to check this place out especially if looking for location location of Chaweng.

You get what you pay for

I booked als resort for 2 adults and 1 child then called Expedia to put a note on requesting an infants cot as I was bringing our toddler as well as our son and it stated on the website that infant cots were free. I also messaged als resort to advise there were be an additional toddler travelling on top of the 2 adults and 1 child. Upon arrival they said that yes the toddler was free but although the booking was for 2 adults and 1 child that was just the charge for 2 adults and that I infact had to pay them an additional 8000 thai baht for my son. I told them I booked 2 adults and a child so I was not paying again. I told them I wanted a refund. Eventually they reluctantly agreed that they would not charge me but I would have to pay 300 baht a day for his breakfast even though I had paid for 2 adults and a child bed and breakfast. Upon inspection of the room I nearly cried. It was filthy, thick layers of dust. What I could only describe as prison issue bath robes. The cupboard doors were hanging off. No tea and coffee facilities as advertised well unless you class a broken kettle and one cup as facilities. We were provided with 2 towels for a family. The shower was only one temperature which was hot so my toddler could not even use it. 3-4 coat hangers so we lived out of our cases. Next doors room service plates left outside for days. No working safe or tv and breakfast was horrendous. Good location but only if your happy to rough it!
