A memorable stay in this hotel during our family's Japan vacation. The Japanese traditional Kaiseki dinner is the highlight, followed by drum show. Hotel has a beautiful garden sterches out acres with rich vegetation and architectural details. Wine bar provides nice coffee, snacks and wine tasting. I only wish the breakfast doesnt close that early (9am).

The friendliness of the hotel staff, the dinner and the private dining rooms, the hotel garden and our Sanri Suite were all great. Only the large breakfast room could be a little cosier; two rooms would be even better, as the hotel is quite large. However, the food selection was very good.

This is a very interesting property. We visited to glimpse Fujisan but were denied. The property is dated but has obvious charm with typical japanese 70s style architecture. The outdoor onsen is very nice. Not crowded even on a weekend. Food was really fabulous. There is good entertainment in the evening and plenty of little clubs to drink wine. I recommend this place

Extraordinary service and hospitality! Facilities, wine tasting lounge and drum show were unique and enjoyable. Plenty of space for all guests except during drumming show Sunday evenings - Our only frustration was the poor internet service - we had a bit of medical work to handle and could not connect to and maintain connection with internet in our rooms. Our onsen and room was fabulous.

Don’t believe the one star reviews, this is an amazing, authentic experience with wonderful hosts. The property is spotless - this is a mineral spa and there will be deposits on the spa baths. The food is wonderful but they will struggle with significant dietary restrictions. We don’t eat meat and confirmed a couple of times this was OK well before we arrived. This is a Japanese resort. If you aren’t keen on an immersive experience this is not for you. The weather was terrible when we stayed and we still loved every minute. Including the wine bar! Hot tip. Arrive early for the drumming show. Both nights we stayed were standing room.

Our view of Mt. Fuji was incredible. Lucky we got our pictures in right away because once it disappeared, we didn't see it again. Food, grounds and onsen at Kaneyamaen were first class. We really enjoyed our stay.
