Stayed one night with a family of three, lovely staff, room and great breakfast buffet. Hotel in good shape after renovations, nice place and good location for exploring Irelands West with the family.
A recent complete renovation makes the Hydro a beautiful hotel to stay on at a very reasonable per night room cost. Fabulous vibe, great service from all the staff!
Excellent location. Despite being a busy hotel and getting a room on the ground floor, the room was well insulated and was very quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Shower had poor water pressure, which was annoying, but overall bathrooms very clean.
Breakfast is average good.
The hotel is going through an extensive renovation. Common areas are beautifully redesigned and comfortable. Rooms are older but will eventually be updated. Complimentary breakfast was amazing. On site restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend.
We recently had a wonderful stay at The Hydro Hotel in Lisdoonvarna. While the property is currently going through some renovations, it hasn't lost an ounce of its historic, old-world charm. It is a wonderfully cozy place to return to after a long day of sightseeing.
The staff were fantastic, the genuine hospitality we received made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. We also loved the morning breakfast, which was delicious and the perfect fuel for our busy days.
The absolute best part of this hotel is the location. It is the perfect strategic base camp for County Clare. You are only a quick 10-minute drive down to Doolin to catch the passenger ferries out to the Aran Islands, and less than 15 minutes away from the Cliffs of Moher.
Highly recommend this hotel if you want a warm, charming stay, right in the heart of all the best coastal sights!
The property is well situated, very clean, with helpful staff, and free onsite parking. There is a tasty breakfast buffet which was included in the hotel rate and a good dinner menu available. Each breakfast table had white table cloths which were changed with each seating.
The hotel is going through a renewal phase, but this did not impact the service.
There is a bar and cafe onsite, with a nice lobby.
I was very appreciative as the hotel accommodated our early check in at 1pm.
The hotel is beautiful. They are in the second stage of renovation to the hotel, but it was very clean and the renovation did not hinder amenities. I loved the coffee bar during the day; it was a nice touch and reasonably priced. While we did not dine at the hotel for dinner, the menu always looked very good and it was a quaint atmosphere.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel; the only downside was that the breakfast was very poor – there were absolutely no vegetables and no variety at all. Overall, it was very clean and the staff were excellent. We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner and the food there was excellent.

Room was spacious and the kids enjoyed the tennis court! We also found a playground a short walk away. The lower rating was due to the washroom. The toilet was wobbly and did not flush well. The shower had great pressure but there was only a half partition to contain the water and water ended up getting on the floor.
Because this hotel recently came under new ownership, it had very few reviews when I booked. However, I was extremely pleasantly surprised upon arrival! The lobby and dining areas have already been redesigned in a classy, boutique style.
While the guest rooms haven't been remodeled yet (meaning the decor doesn't quite match the updated common spaces) they are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel actually has rendering plans on display showing their future vision, and it’s going to be an incredible property over the next few years. My only concern is that as these upgrades finish, prices will rise and make it less affordable for solo travelers like me.
Un bel hôtel en cours de rénovation.
Nous n'avons pas eu la chance d'avoir une chambre rénovée, mais elle était tout à fait correcte. Lits confortable, belle vue.
Petits déjeuners copieux, style buffet.
