A real gem in Kigali

This is simply the best hotel in its category in Kigali. Modern, very clean, massive rooms, all facilities and in a good location. I highly recommend this hotel and do not even bother looking for another place to stay. Rooftop restaurant has amazing views and offers fantastic range of top dishes and wines. Enjoy!

Urban by CityBlue in Kigali was a great stay! It is centrally located in a very walkable and safe area of Kigali. It is in close proximity to great restaurants and coffee shops as well as close enough to the downtown area to get there easily but far enough away to be quiet. Yet, it also has its own excellent restaurant with amazing views of the city. The staff was excellent and extremely responsive. The room was cleaned exquisitely each day, the water was powerful and hot, room service prompt, and the breakfast good.

When I arrived my first room was downstairs on the 1st floor. It felt like I was in a dungeon. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, it felt closed in somehow. But, as soon as I mentioned my dissatisfaction w the room I was moved right away to a room on the 3rd floor. The rooms are spacious. Housekeeping is fantastic. The bathroom is humongous, and the staff’s incredible! One complaint is that carpet in both rooms needs to be changed. I wore shoes the whole time because I didn’t want to walk on it.

Worth every dollar

Booking my mum’s & my stay at this boutique hotel was the best decision we made in terms of our entire trip to Kigali. The staff are so professional; approachable & friendly. Our room was huge & felt like home right from the get go. The restaurant upstairs serves delicious meals & has beautiful views of the city.

The Urban is a good boutique hotel but lately the housekeeping staff has been Slacking in their duties. Management needs to ensure the staff deliver in their duties. Never take repeat customers for granted. Always respond to issues raised.

Nice Hotel but Lousy Wifi

Everything was great, The hotel is really comfortable and clean. The only complaint is the Wifi. Kigali has pretty good internet but this hotel it is nearly unusable. If you're in the city for business maybe re-consider or bring along a hotspot.

The initial booked room was terrible especially the toilet. The TV was not showing properly. No tooth brushes and paste are available in the rooms. The second room I was shifted to on day 2 was excellent.

Checked in easily and quickly at 1 AM after late arrival at airport. Airport taxis are easy and charge between 10.000 and 15.000 framcs for trips into Kigali - I paid 15.000 at that time of night and was at the hotel 10 minutes later. Free breakfast is good with made to order omelets and great cappuccino and fresh juices with views over the city from 3rd floor terrace restaurant. Garden rooms are the cheaper rooms and are good value and spacious. Lots of hot water and good Wifi. Definitely cheaper if you are solo to book 1 person since the pruce goes up with 2 people or more. Note next door Zebra guesthouse has same price for 2 people so is a better option for couples. Location is good and you can walk to many places in an hour or less. Taxis also readily available. Recommended.
