Home away from home.
Spent Christmas with my teenage daughter and dog at Maple Bank and it was the most wonderful few days! Kate is a super host, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. Most gorgeous guest house, amazing breakfasts and the best cake in the afternoons.
Easy walking to great pubs and walks. Will definitely stay again.
Lovely place to stay. Usually stay in Keswick centre but this place is a gem and I will come here instead. Lovely touches and so nice to have cake every day!! Breakfast was fab. No moans from me.
Maple Bank is a gem of a place. Super location literally 100 yards from a bus stop, which has an hourly bus right through to midnight, with a £2 fare cap!
We chose to walk in to Keswick one morning which took about 50 minutes.
Check-in was great and informative, outlining options for breakfast for vegetarian & vegan choices. Breakfast was superb with quality ingredients. All freshly made.
Room was perfectly equipped and had everything you could need. Great range of local toiletries.
Highly recommended spot & will definitely be back.
The lovely Kate has everything spot on, super dog friendly, clean, comfortable, best breakfast ever, cakes in the afternoon, what more can you ask for!
Lovely b&b and very welcoming owner and we very much enjoyed our our stay, but did not appreciate being asked to remove dirty tea trays and rubbish from the room, and if we were happy , also to strip the bed and put used towels in a laundry basket !!
Surely these services are what we are paying for ?
The friendliness, the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast AND afternoon cake, plus Lake District products in the bathroom, added together with the amazing beauty of ‘The Lakes’, oh I almost forgot to add how well our Labrador was treated, our four night break could not have been better. All we can say is ‘Thank you’.
The place is very homely and Kate (the host) made sure that we feel comfortable and make the most of our time by suggesting things to do in the area. It was covid safe and very clean. The property is close to public transport and walking distance to main hiking spots. Also we didn't have pets with us but the house is definitely dog friendly and has all provisions for that. Inclusive breakfast was delicious and with really generous portions, enough to fill up until evening. Would stay there again!
Comfortable guest house, kate messaged 2 days becore we got there to confirm which i thought was lovely.
She took her time to get to know us, gave us plenty of advice on what to do in the area. Breakfasts was amazing and plenty of choice.
Clean comfortable room, and in the perfect area for walking and so close to keswick. Would stay again!
What a lovely place to stay!! The room was large, comfortable, and cozy, and the bath was HUGE. We've stayed in hotel rooms smaller than that. Mary and Sean were very gracious hosts and helped us get our luggage up the flight of stairs. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and Mary had several selections to choose from. Her scrambled eggs with Scottish salmon on toast were my favorite. We stayed three nights and would have stayed longer if our itinerary allowed. Highly recommend this quiet comfortable place to anyone staying in the area. An added bonus to our stay was a Scottish Highland night at the local park with music, Irish dancing, and a great pipe band.
Lovely hosts, attention to detail, time taken to talk to you and give helpful advise, welcomed our little dog, good location just outside of but within a few minutes walk of the village centre. We were in room 7 top floor facing the back garden. Nice and quiet. We’ve stayed in many guest houses over the years and it’s not often we say we’d return for a second visit but if we were to visit this area again we would definitely stay here.
The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold foods. The location was outstanding: verv quiet and peaceful for a good sleep, yet only minutes walk from an excellent pub and only minutes drive from Keswick
We feel so lucky to have found this place. Everything about it was perfect from the warm welcome, amazing breakfast, dog friendliness to the home-made cake in the afternoon!. Kate couldn't do enough for her guests and really made each and every one, including doggy guests, feel very welcome. She even gave peppermint foot cream to her guests that had been walking during the day. A very special place indeed!
Kate is a fantastic host. Lovely breakfast and fresh fruit and Tea Pigs tea! Great fenced in garden for my dog. Very doggie-friendly apart from them not being allowed into breakfast, but the place is small enough to know they are safe in the room. My Labrador loved Kate's cooked sausages! All round lovely experience. On the downside, the showers aren't brilliant and could do with an upgrade. We'll be back!
Kate was an absolute gem, extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
The guest house is in a lovely location and was very clean and comfortable with lots of little special touches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.
What a fabulous B&B. Rhona and Tommy were very welcoming and serviced a fantastic breakfast. They were very welcoming to our dog which was really nice and felt we were home away from home. Great location and got a good recommendation from Tommy to go to their local pub. Bus stop was very close by and we didnt have to use our car the whole time we were there. 100% recommend and look forward to returning.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming We immediately felt very much at home They had time to speak to you and give the individual input you needed They were also very helpful in advising bus times and routes to and around the area A lovely and friendly family
The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and the breakfast was delicious. I especially appreciated that they had gluten-free bread and sausages available (I just had to give them a heads up the night before). It was a great experience and if our travels take us back to the Lake District, we'd definitely stay here again.
Our room was a twin one on the top floor. It was plenty big enough, good en suite facilities, very clean and a decent mattress. Breakfast was excellent and the owners friendly and attentive.
Very welcoming, excellent breakfast very clean. Pity our dog couldn't join us in the dining area when it's a dog friendly hotel. Although she was compensated with a sausage from the chef. Excellent overall.
