The hosts are amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them, the location is perfect for getting into Keswick and the rooms lovely - the breakfast was amazing.
Our room was bigger than we expected and our beds were very comfortable.
It was lovely to arrive to a delicious afternoon tea cake to enjoy in our room.
The breakfast was delicious. Tasty locally sourced bacon and sausages, all cooked to perfection.
The location is super close to town and about 45 minutes walk to Castlerigg Stones.
Highly recommend staying here, Lorraine has so much local knowledge too!
Fantastic B&B in beautiful Keswick! The hosts were warm and super friendly. The room was clean and comfy. We tried a few of the breakfast options and they were all delicious. There’s a beautiful park (Fritz) nearby, and it’s 5-10 miles from several great hiking options, including the breathtaking Buttermere area. Highly recommend!
Lorraine and Simon were friendly welcoming hosts.
Lots of tourist information provided arou d the house. Our room had an abundance of power points and charhing ports.
Lorraines friendly personality made the breakfast room a chatty and friendly environment. Excellent variety of hot and cold breakfast choices.
Fabulous stay with Lorraine and Simon. We received a very warm welcome, the room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. Thank you, we look forward to returning!
Fantastic B&B close to the centre of Keswick. Would give 6 stars but app limited to 5. Super clean, super comfortable bed, one of the best nights sleep I've had away from home. Shower nice and powerful. Hosts Lorraine & Simon very hospitable and welcoming. Thank you.
Very comfortable guest house. Lorraine and Simon could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Breakfast was great. Really wish we had planned a loner stay than two nights
Dorchester house is such a lovely place to stay! With cozy interior and a beautiful dining room, it's just as being invited home to Lorraine and Simon. Lorraine greeted us when we arrived and was always helpful and kind as well as giving practical info about keswich. Would definitely recommend if you're visiting.
An exceptional guesthouse - felt very comfortable and looked after. Great breakfast, perfect location and very well priced. The owners really couldn’t have done more! Amazing. Highly recommended.
Simon and Lorraine were very welcoming hosts and us feel at home during our short stay. The B&B is situated on a quiet residential road near the town centre with parking avaible on the roadside. We found our room well furnished, clean and spacious with a good ensuite bathroom. One can choose from a variety of breakfast items including full English, porridge, etc, all freshly prepared in the morning. Simon and Lorraine do a great job running their guesthouse and long may that continue.
From the moment we set foot on the property, Lorraine and Simon impressed me with their warm welcome and concern for their guests. They went out of their way to be helpful at every opportunity, they quickly learned our preferences and accommodated them, and they were friendly with every interaction. The room was clean, comfortable, and the amenities were spot on. The food was delightful. I will absolutely be booking here on my next trip to Keswick.
The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful, and provided a wonderful breakfast. The room was a bit small, and the bathroom might present some problems for an obese guest. Fortunately, we are both small people, and had no problems at all! The town is fascinating, with access to a beautiful lake and walks, many pubs, and interesting shops.
Love staying at Dorchester House. Lorraine is such a wonderful host, always helping with any information we need and goes out of her way to help me with storing my luggage before checkin and after checkout. The location is fantastic, just next to the Town centre and bus stops. The street is well-lit and safe to roam even when dark. The room is super cosy and the bedding is clean and so comfortable that my kids would love sleep-in instead of going out and about. The breakfast is delicious and Lorraine makes sure they are served hot.
The lake is just 10mins walk and there are many dining options. I cant recommend this place enough and Lorraine and Simon are the best hosts. Thank you for giving us such a lovely stay in Keswick!❤️
The Dorchester was immaculate. I was in a small single room with a seperate spacious bathroom and shower, accessible only to me. The only gripe I had was that since my room was at the front, people would stand chatting right under my window. I don't usually mind, however when it is at 6 - 7am in the morning, forget about having a lie in. It might be an idea to request guests in the area to be more considerate to others when hanging around outside. One guy just wouldn't stop talking and I could hear the entire conversation. I was tempted to tell him to cork it and clear off.
Lorraine, the landlady was very attentive and welcoming. She made sure everyone was comfortable and happy. Little cakes would appear on the hallway table with my room number on them. My friend stayed in another B&B nearby, which in comparison made the Dorchester look like a luxury hotel. The Dorchester was so clean and crisp that everything looked brand new.
I would definitely recommend staying at the Dorchester.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Staff are friendly, approachable and will do anything to help you have a pleasant stay. Rooms clean and powerful showers. Loads of storage space. Breakfast was amazing and first time when offered a range of options - you must try the Overnight Oats! Just what we needed before some big hikes.
Very nice guest house close to the heart of Keswick. Hostess was friendly and communicative. Property very clean. Reasons for four stars instead of five include the size of the room and bathroom (quite small), and the very limited time for breakfast (1/2 hour window).
We had the best sleeps in these beds!!!! The breeze through the big windows was a relief. The room was perfect for myself and 2 boys, spacious and everything we needed!!!
Breakfast was delicious, the Yorkshire tea brewed in a pot was perfect.
Lorraine and Simon are lovely hosts, I would definitely recommend the guest house to my friends.
