This is an older motel but our room was updated with new flooring and paint…furnishings were older but sufficient as we were only passing through and just needed a place to stay for one night. Staff was very nice.

They aren't 2 stars, i give them 3 at least
Good place to stop at for a road trip under 90$. We had a very late check in and they were very helpful, and gave us some extra time in the morning to check out.
I was pleasantly surprised by this little motel. Clean, well-maintained and more updated than I expected based on both the surrounding areas and the outdoors. The window AC unit was effective, and although noisy, it covered up any noises from the highway directly outside or any parking lot noises. My only two real issues was 1: there were lots of small gnats/flies in the bathroom. I am not sure if they were coming in through glass brick wall (there was a section that has been removed and a air vent/register installed) or elsewhere; and 2: the door lock was a simple push button like you might have on your bathroom door at home. No deadbolt or secure handle lock. Thankfully I always travel with a portable safety lock, otherwise I would not have felt very safe or confident in that lock's ability to keep anyone out. If you don't travel with a portable lock or door bar, plan to barricade the door with the chair.
We only stayed one night after a concert. Comfortable. Bathroom was clean but could use new grout in the shower. The tv could be a little bigger. Asked for two beds and got three to our surprise. lol! Good big room for the price. AC worked. No chain lock on door we didn’t care for that since the hotel door was right outside. It was hot when we walked in because the windows were wide open and AC was not on. Push button lock didn’t seem to secure so we put the chair next to the door while we slept. But it was a good room and price for just the one night we stayed.
It was a last minute decision as VRBO screwed up my original plans. We were pleasantly surprised at how kind the owners were and how clean the room was. It was kinda small but served it's purpose. Beds were very comfortable. It's definitely an older motel that is attempting to be revamped. Looking good so far. Would definitely stay again. And definitely grab breakfast at the North point grill and bar. Great food for a even better price.
Even though inexpensive, the room was more than i expected.
My stay was for a month.
The room was clean and the use of the minifridge and microwave helped keep my expenses down.
Though the traffic was audible, which is normal for a roadside motel, it was mostly minimal.
Overall I found my stay very enjoyable and would definitely stay here again.

Disliked: Amenities
You get what you pay for. Fairly cheap room. Clean but, no pool. Not much around this area except McDonalds and a few local restaurants. Just needed a room off I-75 for the night. It fit the bill. Just don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

Small dated roadside motel that smelled like old cigarettes. It had two beds so you'd think it'd be for four people like every other hotel. We were in the room for about a half hour when the owner called us saying we needed to pay an extra $20 since we had 3 people or one of us needed to leave.

There was a terrible smell in the room. I couldn’t pin point it. Maybe musty and bleach? Idk but it was awful and I won’t book again because of it.
I appreciated cotton sheets & blue wall. No safety handle in shower. No soap dish. No place to hang wash cloth in shower. Could only have 2 plug ins by bed. I had to plug phone across the room. I dont understand why you dont touch up paint-doors, trim.
Also, no safety lock on door!!!

Inexpensive, basic motel
Inexpensive, roadside motel. Clean. Did the job. But don't look for charm, or plush bathroom towels. Breakfast not included.

Clean and functional; nothing to write home about
This hotel was a last minute booking. It was clean and easy to reach from the highway and reasonable. The bed was reasonably comfortable but furnishings were flea market. Bathroom was NEW and the best part of the room.
Room kept blowing fuse. Could not have TV and microwave; coffeemaker on at the same time. Called office the next morning to move us. Indicated that they would fix problem. Did not fix... would not stay their again.

Family Fishing Trip
Went up for a fishing trip on saginaw bay, and the hotel was perfect location. Friendly staff, decent beds and looked like the bathrooms had just been remodeled.
Certainly not the Taj Mahal, but worked for a place to rest our head for the weekend. Coffee machine, but no coffee carafe/pot, one finally showed up the next day. Ice machine locked up at night, only 1/2 roll of toilet paper, while it was close to the destination we needed to be. If you just need a place to rest your head/sleep at night this place will work for the cheap price. Truth in "you get what you pay for."
Staff/Owners are very accommodating & hospitable. They know the area & really helped us w/ info on many various questions/locations/directions, best part was their answers resulted in Great Fun! Thanks Northland Motel ;)
