What a great hotel! Clean comfortable rooms in a lovely setting, an easy walk to shops and restaurants. We especially appreciated the welcoming, friendly staff who spoke excellent English. The bar was cozy and featured amazing cocktails - the gin & tonic with "forest" syrup was my favorite (so much so that I bought a bottle of the syrup to bring home). Would absolutely recommend this hotel, and hope to visit again someday!

Beautiful grand hotel with spacious rooms. Excellent staff and lovely set breakfast overlooking the gardens. Good Italian restaurant on the corner a few minutes walk if you don’t choose to have their French Menu in the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and beautiful facilities. Walkable to the main street. The only concern was no lift to second floor, lifting luggage up and down isn't easy especially when we have young children as well.

Immersing in Showa retro atmosphere

The hotel is conveniently located at city center with restaurants and shops nearby. The room is spacious, tidy and clean. The building itself is in old Japan western style. It is an excellent choice to immerse myself in the Showa retro atmosphere.

Hotel is just off the main road. The staff were very nice to me even though I don't speak Japanese. I ended up adding breakfast to my stay and chose the Japanese breakfast option which was unique, fun, and tasty. When I checked out they offered me a ride to the train station in a shuttle and it was much better than walking. The hotel seems a bit older which gives it some charm, adds to the feeling that you are in a mountain town getaway. The main shopping area is about a 10 min walk, the pond is about a 10 min walk and the train station is about a 15 min walk. There are many bar and restaurant choices in the area, and the hotel itself has two restaurants.

小さな、昭和初期のような、初めて行っても懐かしい雰囲気のホテル。サービスも大げさでなく居心地が良い。軽井沢の市街地には最高のアクセス。食事も美味しい。惜しいのは、ベッドが小さく、マットレスも硬く、古いのではと思ってしまう。テンピュールでも敷いたらいいかも。部屋はやや狭い。
