The hotel must have been amazing when it first opened, but it now clearly lacks maintenance and management. With a few improvements, it could be exceptional again.
Pros: Stunning location overlooking the beach. Villa #14 was incredible: breathtaking view, magical sunrise, huge private villa with 3 independent suites, garden and pool. Great activities (morning yoga, traditional dances, beach shuttles). Convenient water dispenser and buggy service. Friendly drivers and restaurant staff. Good food (although very slow service).
Cons: Housekeeping and service need major improvement. Bathroom counters were dirty (I had to clean them myself), cobwebs, stained floor, humidity-damaged walls, torn curtains, broken blinds, limescale in taps, rough towels, damp-smelling mattresses. Our private pool turned green on day 3 and couldn’t be used after the chemical treatment. The main pool was green too.
Service was disappointing: no one ever asked if we were enjoying our stay or needed anything. Our airport transfer vehicle was too small for 5 guests + driver, which wasn’t safe. The 24/7 gym lights didn’t work and staff didn’t know how to switch them on. We were charged €8 for a broken shower gel bottle left in an awkward spot, and were asked four times about the minibar. At our 5:45 a.m. checkout, the staff checked the minibar before even asking how our stay had been.
Such a shame, because the hotel has huge potential. The villas are beautiful, but the service culture needs a real reset.
